Acne. Acne acne acne. There I said it. It’s out. For my entire life I have never had any trouble with acne except for times of extreme stress. I’d say planning a wedding on top of money troubles fits that definition. I only have issues around my chin and it’s only been since we started the big parts of the planning. I just don’t want to be walking down the aisle with a mountain on my chin. I am able to cover it up very well with make up and what not, but I also have a terrible habit of picking and scratching and rubbing. So the makeup doesn’t really help. I’ve tried yoga and other means of de-stressing but nothing seems to be helping.
Anyone out there having the same problems?

The only thing that helps my stress acne is birth control pills :/

I actually got acne from my BC control pills. I would never break out and then once I started taking it I started breaking out all the time (or maybe it was stress??) Anyways, I started using Clean and Clear…I was guessing after never having used facial stuff and it has done wonders. I love it.

DONT start using loads of products and scrubbing it raw, that will only dry your skin out and make your skin produce EXTRA oil. Honestly, I have had mild acne for years, and the after getting engaged I decided to sort it out. Go to your doctor. They will be able to give you something fairly mild that should clear it up pretty easily. I am using a cream called Duac, with great success. works pretty quickly too. Otherwise, get yourself a nice, simple cleanser, without perfume and alcohol, that wont dry your skin out. Get a nice simple non alcoholic cleanser, and a non perfumed moisturizer. I don’t know if you have it in the states but here in the UK we have a brand called ‘simple’- its pretty gentle and works a treat. I also use plain old olay moisturiser- not anti aging, not gradual tanning, just plain! perfect for my skin.
If you dont want to go to the doctor, I would suggest booking an appointment with a dermatologica counter- I hear they work wonders- pricey though.
And make sure you drink TONS of water- it ill take a week or so to really get into your system/help your skin, but it does work!

Ugh… I feel your pain. Mine has returned after a four-year hiatus. (I have a theory that can be summed up with my body decides when I do and don’t get pregnent… it’s back to the “can get pregnant” stage now. which is good, cause i want another! LOL)
It totally SUCKS because if I eat a lot of chocolate or candy (and I’m a chocoholic) my skin breaks out.
I second the others. Visit your dr and see if he/she can help you out. Also, cut back on the sugary substances. that might help, too.

Try tea tree oil. My skin sounds a lot like yours, and while it’s not the end of the world if I have a blemish I sometimes just dab a little tea tree oil on it (you can find it at Whole Foods or maybe even the drug store). It’s a natural antibacterial and I think it also helps with inflammation. More importantly, my skin just feels really clean after I dab it on, so I don’t get that gross dirty picking temptation.

If it’s on your chin, could your phone be aggravating it? Do you lean on the palm of your hand during the day? You’re probably touching your face, which makes it worse. Go to the dermatologist–some OTC cream or pills should nix everything. DH had really bad adult acne and now he takes pills nightly…it’s like magic for his skin.

Thanks everyone for your help! I think I’m going to try the DIY suggestions first as I absolutely HATE going to the doctor :/
