I been a lurker since I got engaged (December 2013) and finally felt that I should join since sometimes I just need people to vent to or bounce ideas off of poeple that are going through the EXACT same thing I am. Today is jut one of those days that I need to vent lol.
So my Fiance and I originally had our wedding planned for July 2015 & unfortunetly we have come upon some financial issues that pose a threat to our wedding being what we want so yesterday I called the church and venue and had them change our date to October 2015. Even though its only a 3 month difference I’m feeling really down in the dumps about it. I know in my head this is the right choice to make; mainly because I will be graduating from nursing school in 5 weeks time and then need to study for my boards (plus pay off those pesky student loans) but my heart is broken because its more time I have to wait from being a MRS; not to mention instead of me being 27 and my Fiance 29 at our wedding I’ll be 28 and he will be 30 (stupid I know).
I’m trying my hardest to look on the bright side about everything & hopefully some good vibes will be sent my way. Maybe a little more time will benefit us and our wallets in the end. Has any of you come upon this problem where you seem to be dwelling on the things that shouldn’t matter as much?

I am sorry you are sad, but look on the bright side. You’re going to just have more time to make your wedding that much more special. With all that you’re going to have going on and money issues, wedding planning can really over take you and throw you into a very stressful situation.
Everything is going to be fine, you’ll see

Thanks ladies!! I apprecaite the kind words. I never realized how stressful planning a wedding can be and how even the minor things can add up in price. I’m lucky that I do have my dress out of the way (its currently in my old room at my parents house) just has to sit there a little longer I guess.

mmbee: ugh i know how you feel. Fiance and I were engaged over a year before setting a July 2014 date, that didn’t work for us so we pushed it back 5 months to December. I was really disappointed at first but the time goes by SO fast. Also now looking back i’m glad we gave ourselves extra time to enjoy being engaged and not stress ourselves out over money and planning. It will work out and an October wedding sounds beautiful!!

I feel so much better knowing I’m not the only one going through this. It was such a hard day for me yesterday I was dragging my feet with going to make the changes. I know your right about the time going by fast and maybe this is a blessing in disguise. And I’m happy to hear that even with your changes your wedding was still beautiful!!
