seldom blues is very sexy, but pricy.  fishbones is fun and not so pricey, but loud.  what kinda date?  like dinner and a stroll down city walk?  or martius park?  do you just want restaurant reccomendations?  go to the modeld site and read a few reviews.

I’m not from Detroit, but my best friend is and when we went there for her wedding, we all had a fun night out at the Majestic in Royal Oak.  It was a casual but nice, with a young, fun crowd, and the food was really good.  It was a really cool place.  ooh – just googled it and they have a website.  http://www.majesticdetroit.com/

 Enjoy!

My fiance and I love Slow’s BBQ in Detroit. It has a really awesome, urban vibe with amazing ribs and a fantastic beer selection. It’s usually packed so make sure you give yourself time to be seated. If you’re looking for a quiet, fancy, uber romantic place…this is probably not what you’re looking for

I second Slow’s! I crave it a lot and wish that we lived closer!

Slow’s is FANTASTIC…and don’t be afraid of the location.  It’s by where the old Tiger’s Stadium USED to be…it looks a little sketchy to people who aren’t from the area.

I also love Small Plates – the original is downtown on Broadway but I believe they also just opened one up in Royal Oak.  Really yummy tapas style restaurant so you and hubby can share.  You must try the almond chicken!

Cliff Bell’s is awesome!!! I always forget about that place. The manager was good friends with my high school sweetheart, what a small world!

Date Night Ideas:

Fancy Evening – Coach Insignia (at the top of the RenCen, got engaged there!)
Semi-fancy Evening – Union Street (on Woodward across from The Majestic)
Casual Evening – Sweetwater Tavern (corner of Congress and Brush, damn good wings)
Artsy Day – Cranbrook Museum of Science (Bloomfield, beautiful grounds)
Movies – Wednesday night brew and view at The Magic Bag (Ferndale, classic flicks)
FREE – Riverfront (downtown in front of the RenCen, super nice – took e-pics there)
FREE – Trails at Mabury State Park (Northville – old psych hospital property, very pretty)

Those are some of my favs! Any other recommendations from all those MI brides on here tonight?

After dinner you could go see a show at the Fox.

I know this is an older thread, but I just saw Slow’s on a Food Network show last night (Man vs. Food)!  So exciting!  But, as the boy said, that means more people are going to check it out now and crowd us out.

PS. Too late for us, but apparently they are starting a catering operation next year at some point…
