hmm well we are planning on an August 2013 wedding but haven't picked out an exact date yet...so it's possible! lol
You will be getting married on our 1 year anniversary! We are getting married August 17th 2012 at 6pm in a private ceremony and then having a huge reception Saturday night. Good luck with all your plans!

Hi Date Twin! We are getting married August 17, 2013 as well. It will be exactly 2 years from the day he proposed =)

Meeeee! We haven't officially secured it yet, but I think we have *finally* settled on a venue and they have all of August 2013 open right now so it's likely we'll be getting the 17th. I'm glad to have so many date twins already!!
500 days! I thought about making a new board to state this, and then I realized that maybe I should wait until were a little closer since we still have more than a year to go. I have been engaged for 329 days though, so I'm getting close to the halfway point!
@MsPanda: Lol I feel like I've been waiting to reveal the date for ages. We picked the venue in December. Then I spent months convincing FI we should just book already, and then the actual mailing of the contract took a couple weeks. Everyone else was just like thats nice. I'm glad you're as excited about being my date twin as I am to be yours :)
@asscherlover: Its nice to have someone to talk to about everything we are on the same timeline so we can make sure that the other one doesnt get left behind.
@MsPanda: I think I need someone to keep me from getting ahead of myself right now lol. I was designing STDs yesterday and I promised FI we wouldn't send them out until August. I also made a mockup seating chart last month lol.
WooHoo Date TWINSIES!!!! Hopefully we're not changing ours as my fiance may need surgery, in which case we'll bump it back a bit just for him to have less stress and more time to heal/rehab/therapy/whatnot...I know he would be absolutely devasted if he had to miss out on any cake/caterer tastings!!!
@asscherlover: LOL I am just looking for event rentals right now... I dont want to spend 3 dollars a peice on white wood folding chairs....

@Dolldancer8: Aw I hope he is ok! I don't know what kind of surgery he needs, but I would hope recovery wouldn't be that long.

I'm officially your date twin now!!! We finally booked our venue for the date we wanted a couple weeks ago, and I'm so excited to actually have a day to tell everyone! I can't wait, now! August 17th will be a FABULOUS day!

@asscherlover: LOL MEN.... But I think we get a automatic pass on this day because it is a "us" day not a day he just gets head lol...
@MsPanda: Do you have a lot of out of town guests? I was kind of thinking of sending mine in September. I was going to send in August but figured some people might get confused and not look at the year so was thinking right after August. Do you bees think its too early? 99% of our guests are OOT.
@VermontBride13: Very little of mine are out of town Mine wont be going out until January I think... But now that I have magnets and they can just be stuck on a fridge I might send them a bit early...
@MsPanda: Waiting is definitely the hard part. We just started designing ours. FI is a photographer and really good with photoshop and edits like that so hopefully it takes us a little while otherwise even Sept will be difficult. We moved to VT 3 1/2 yrs ago so most of our guest list is still in NY/NJ so I figured earlier the better.
@VermontBride13: We have at least 80% OOT, and some of those are out of the country. I've just been spreading the date verbally, and I plan on sending out STDs on August 1st. I guess some people might think its 2012, but I hope they don't think that I would send out an invitation 2 weeks before the wedding. Are you overinviting to compensate for the higher no rate with OOT guests? I can't decide if we should (it would be by at most 20 people, the venue fits 200, and we need a minimum of 165).
@MsPanda: Besides I thought thats what March 14th was for? Isn't that steak and a BJ day?
@VermontBride13: That is true I think we only have 1 family that is OOT
@asscherlover That is true. If its in August people shouldn't think thats the invitation. Maybe I will send mine around the one year mark too! :)
We aren't over inviting because I think almost everyone will come. It will be about a 4 hour drive for most people and the wedding is at 5pm Saturday so I think most will want to come to Vermont for a little mini vacation. BUT since you have some out of the country that definitely makes traveling much more difficult and expensive so guests may not come. Over inviting a little isn't a bad idea just make sure to stay within the max just in case.
@VermontBride13: I dont understand the over inviting I know most likely not everyone would be able to come but what if they can you would be in BIG trouble...
Sounds like this is becoming a popular date. Scott and proposed on April 5th on our Dominican vacation and we have chosen August 17, 2013. He's going to love the national Head Day factoid, lol! Where is everyone planning their venues? We will be getting married in the BC rockies where I lived for 13 years and we both met there as well.
@nursygirl: Yes it is a popular date so far! I am having my wedding on family property here in oregon
AND I found out that August 17th is the date my Grandpa and late Grandma got married! Something to make the day a little bit more special!
