FrenchNewlyWed:  Congrats!!!! How exciting to get to see your little peanut!! When I had my dating ultrasound they changed my due date from 3-9 to 3-18. It’s perfectly normal, most women don’t ovulate right at 2 weeks after they’re period. My dr sent me for a dating ultrasound bc I just got off BC and she knew my cycle wouldn’t have been normal. Did your dr mention why they wanted you to have one? Either way, it’s perfectly normal to change your date!! Congrats!!

They can change your due date but they shouldn’t change your lmp. they should just say edc is 5-20-15 by an 8 wk us not consistent with the lmp you gave them. But it’s really not a big deal. congrats!!

They changed my due date after the ultrasound, too – by two days. However, the doctor who did the ultrasound said they can date the pregnancy within a week (+/-6 days). If you have charted, it might be worth showing it to your OB, otherwise, don’t worry – very few babies are born on their exact due date.
