My dating/engagement anniversary is a thursday and a friend’s wedding rehearsal.
My 1st anniversary is next yr and was just told by my friend that they are marrying that day.
I love these people and would want to attend their rehearsal/wedding for sure, but I am just very bummed by the coincident.. we only get one first anniversary (1st anniv seem more special)… yes we can do something before or after.. but.. it’s not the same.. it’s one of those special day that I can expect hubby to plan something because he’s not a big planner..
oh well, i just want to talk it out here, I feel kinda silly to say it to friends..

We’ll be spending our 1st anniversary at a family member’s wedding too. Just think of it this way… What better way to celebrate your anniversary than to spend it toasting true love?

I second maryjane… I think a wedding is a great way to spend a 1st anniversary!

@mary jane, I got engaged on 9/9/09!
I am sure I will be reminiscent about our wedding while we are at our friend’s wedding!

At least you know you’ll be together! I think that’d actually make it more fun – you can dress up and have a night “out” together for your anniversary. We always end up working on our anniversaries… life just gets in the way.

I agree with most things here. Is it a bummer, maybe. But it’ll also be great to have a party and celebration to attend. You can spend the night remembering your own wedding.
Maybe you can make a long weekend out of it – take an extra day off work, check into a hotel different than the one the wedding party/guests are at, and then you can retreat to your romantic little place after the wedding!

I too would be a little bummed but at the same time agree with other posters in saying that it would be a great celebration. You can share a dance, maybe you could request your wedding song to be played?

It’s nice to already have 1st anniversary planned out 10months ahead eh!? hehe
