Thanks, i was wondering about that because i’ve heard horror stories about DB alterations.

i’m still concerned because my dress is beaded lace, the saleswoman ordered me a size smaller then the one i tried on in the store(it was only a bit big, she thought the next size down would fit perfect), turned out the size ordered was just a bit small….. i called and talked to alterations, and the guy i talked to was super nice, he said it’s not a problem to have it taken out a bit…. he booked my appt for end of June, my wedding is end of september. I’m excited for the fitting, just wasn’t sure how much it would be to have a dress taken out instead of in.

it’s tight fitting till about my knee area…. it doesn’t need to be taken out much, i just wasn’t sure if it costs more to have it taken out because they need extra material… but the guy on the phone said the dress should come with a bit of extra material inside so it should be fine.

Just wanted to say a quick FYI about the if they mess it up they have to replace it…Yeah I’m having that issue now. They took my dress in too much in the rib area and they are saying that I have to pay to have the alterations let it out because “I gained weight” and “must be bloated from my period.” They redid my measurements two days apart and I simultanously “lost” weight in my bust area and “gained” in my waist. Such an alterations scam!

I would caution anyone to go to David’s Bridal for alterations. While I got my dress there and absolutely LOVE IT(!!), I went for an alterations appointment last Thursday and was heartbroken. They quoted me $484!! I told them that I would be shopping around for quotes because I thought the price was outrageous. After spending an hr and a half getting fitted and pinned, the seamstress took out every.single.pin. Their policy makes you pay everything up front the day of the fitting. I wasn’t comfortable with that either. So I found a local seamstress who is actually a tailor for a bridal shop and scheduled an appointment. It took her 20 minutes and is only going to cost me $170 and she’s even altering my veil for free!! It definitely pays to shop around.

I’m so glad that you are happy with your service so far!! Hopefully everything turns out the way that it is supposed to 🙂
