Ok so you know how DB wants you to buy all the dresses at the same time because the color can vary? I want to know if you think this is valid? Have you seen a bride buy the dresses used and all of them are a different color?
I just so happened to stumble upon a dress in the outlet section I quite like and there are a number of them for sale used. I figured it could work and they’re around $60 a piece which is damn good!
What are your thoughts?

I didn’t buy them used, but my bridesmaids definitely didn’t buy them all together. They bought them at all different times — online and instore. Worked out fine. My sister also wore her dress from my wedding in another wedding several months later and matched the other girls fine.

I have no experience with this, but it just seems like a scam. It’s not just David’s bridal. The two local shops I went to told me I simply must have my out of state BMs order their dresses through the store and have them shipped or else the different dye lots will ruin my wedding day.
I didn’t listen and let my BMs choose whatever store they liked. We’ll see what happens! 🙂
I mean, Bill Levkoff makes like 5 different shades of blue. As long as they don’t mess up the dye lot so badly that it should really be sold as one of those other shades, I think I’ll be ok.

@hotchildinthecity: I just checked out your recap and I can’t tell a difference.

@koi424: I guess I’m thinking this….DB has an ‘outlet’….if they made all the dresses to order, how would they tell me that they have ‘outlet’ dresses in select sizes? Wouldn’t that imply that the dresses are in fact prefabricated? ::scratches head::
