If I had chosen the dress I liked at DB they were going to charge me close to $500 to change the zip up back to a corset, hem and bustle. Ultimatley I chose a different dress at a different store and they have quoated thier alteations about $100 for roughly the same service (it already has a corset but will need to be altered still)!

DB’s alterations are an over-pricedjoke, I would never use them.

I had a David’s Bridal dress, and the alterations quote they gave me was ridiculous.  I went with a private individual for alterations, and I was able to get the sides taken in, a four-point bustle, cups added, a sweetheart neckline added, and a couple of tacks placed in the pickups of the dress  all for $120!

Make sure you shop around!  It pays off!

I went to a private seamstress and got my DB dress altered for $100.

I got my dress at DB and only need it to be hemmed. My consultant whispered to me that I would be better off getting it done elsewhere because of the price, but asked the alteration lady to give me an estimate anyway. They quoted me $120 just to hem my dress. I’m going to an independent seamstress next week to get another estimate.
