I always see the David’s Bridal ct2406 with no petticoat or the “two tiered a-line”. Wondering if it could handle something with more pouf. It is an a-line but pretty full. Thoughts?
This is how I see it most often:
David’s bridal consultant said she thought it would mess with the look of the dress to go any fuller… but I’m not convinced. Just curious what others thought.
Also, I am wondering what kind of veil? I will be wearing some sort of bolero or jacket for sure. I have REALLY wanted a birdcage veil from day one and already have a fascinator to make one with. The fascinator is not feathers though, more classic pearls and little satin flowers.
I was thinking of maybe a tulle birdcage instead, would be softer and maybe more appropriate? Or do you think a standard French net birdcage would be fine with the dress?
Then again I am now considering a more traditional veil. Maybe I will be a 2 veil bride?
Here are a few tulle birdcage/blushers I liked:
This is something like my flower comb but mine is bigger/ longer and meant to be worn on one side and kind of frames the face.

My dress was a different designer but very similar style. The place that did the alterations tried to give me a much slimmer petticoat and insisted that a fuller one wouln’t work but I stood my ground. I got the fullest one possible, it did fit under the dress and I loved how it looked. In fact the petticoat was so big and full it could stand upright by itself on the floor 🙂
Also I’m pretty sure your dress is an exact replica of Jessica Simpson’s Vera Wang wedding dress, and she had a very full skirt. You can google her pics.
You probably saw my pics on another post earlier but here it is again, with and without petticoat:

Any thoughts on the tulle birdcage style veil with this dress?
I am still thinking about a traditional veil as well but I don’t think I want a long one. I plan on having an interesting bolero or jacket and I wanted to add buttons to match the bodice ones, I wanted to add them all the way down the back of the dress and train… so I don’t want a lot of veil covering the back if I do go with a regular veil.

Been having serious double post problems the last day or so here!

I love the second veil you posted. I usually don’t really like birdcage veils, but that one is really pretty. I think the tulle softens the look.

@meliss: Hi i was wondering where you got your petticoat and what it was called. Im doing a maggie sottero ambrosia dress and its fitted at my hips and goes out and didnt know how a full skirt would fit right under the dress at my hips. 🙂
