@11mikesgirl21:  I am doing plum from David’s Bridal for my girls as well and it is a little darker than that but it is close enough. I insisted on the guys wearing charcoal or light gray because it looks better with dark purple but I have this damn ocd that tells me these things and then I can’t get it out of my head. Eggplant is a little darker than plum but that’s what a friend had for her wedding and the guys wore black suits and I personally thought it was a little too dark for that dark of a purple…..another friend did charcoal gray (Men’s Warehouse Vera Wang Black suit but it’s not black so I don’t know why they call the style this even though the color is considered charcoal) and eggplant so when I showed FI that, he agreed it looked wayyyyyyyy better than black suits did.

ETA: the dresses are also chiffon but I wanted a flowy chiffon dress for the girls, because my older sister who is in the wedding is a bigger girl and the shiny fabrics cling to spots that are not favorable. The DB consultant told me the more shiny fabrics look about the same (when I bought the color swatch) because the swatch is a shinier fabric. If  you want, I can take a picture of the swatch when I get home and post it on here for you to see.

@11mikesgirl21:  so it is probably the lighting but the pic I took of the color swatch is not the same as the pictures online if that color and the pictures online are more accurate. But That’s te swatch.

That dress looks verrrrry pretty!! 🙂 I think you will be pleased. do you have a David’s you can go to around there and look at the fabric and dresses on a bridesmaid maybe?? Thats really the only for sure way to know if it is the right color that you have in mind.

The lighting wasnjn the bathroom and I feel like it’s more yellow-y in there. Lol.

OP, this is the color I chose for my MOH last week, and it’s a warmer redder purple than the colors in your pic.

@NicoleLyn1218:  The line is called “Black by Vera Wang” because her wedding dress line at Davids Bridal is “White by Vera Wang.” That particular tux comes in both black and grey, though.

@11mikesgirl21:  For my cousins wedding last year I tried on the dress I needed to buy in plum and LOVED it too bad I had to order the dress in this crazy bright blue! I would say it was close to your school colors!

But I feel you on the non-budging FI! We’re doing Navy and sage green for our colors I would prefer him to wear grey but will not budge so he’s wearing black…. o well

I can’t comment on the plum, but I have a BM dress in “Regency” from David’s and it’s a lovely purple shade that looks pretty close to the college logo you posted. Online, the regency color looks rather blue/violet, but in person it’s purely purple without being too bright IMO.
