Mine was. I think it depends on what line though, maybe.

@Ms_Smitten:

In general I don’t think that bridal dresses measure the same as street size. I am street size 0 but 6 in a bridal gown… or maybe they just made me order a bigger size to charge more on alterations I don’t know Tongue out

Nope! I wear a size 2 or 4 in pants, but my dress from David’s is an 8… but that might just be to fit my boobs in. (Because I do have to get the hips taken in more.) So I’m kind-of unsure now… anyone else?

I think they are pretty much true to size but are you the same size on the top and bottom? I wear a 6 on the bottom and no way was a 6 dress getting on me but that’s because of my top.

The sizing for me was pretty close! I wear a size 4 normally. My dress is a size 6 but it’s a little loose and I’m going to have it taken in a little.

It must depend on the dress. I’m street size 6-8, and my dress was an 8 with very few alterations.

I am a plus size brid, i tried dresses on there fro 16 to 22… so it depends on the make of the dress…

I found DB to be true to street size, at least on the smaller end of the spectrum. I am usually a 2-4; I was a 2-4 in their wedding dresses (bridesmaid dresses seem to run a bit smaller).

I think they run fairly true to street size, although sizes change with color of the dress – at least in my case!  I wear a street size 6 normally but the ivory sample size 6 I tried on was way too big so they ordered the 4 in white.  When it came in, it was still a bit too big (mind you, I have never worn a 4 in my life!)  but I decided I wanted the dress in ivory.  The ivory 4 came in and now it’s too tight around the rib cage – not exactly I place I gain/lose weight.  It’s currently being taken out an inch (it apparently comes with 3 additional inches of fabric available to be let out, just in case anyone was wondering).

Moral of the story – every dress, even from the same retailer, runs a bit different when it comes to sizing!

i heard they use European sizing (kind of like H&M, maybe?).

I am street size 8, but had to order size 10 dress at DB.

I’ve found that they aren’t. I’m a 16 in regular clothes and I bought a size 16W dress from a friend. I’m going to have to try and get it size up to probably an 18 or 20 for it to fit. I wouldn’t have bought it if it hadn’t been such a great deal and she wasn’t so desperate to get rid of it… If I can’t find anyone to size it I’m going to have to buy another dress though : (
