I am skipping the bridal portrait session that my photographer includes to do and hubby and me session after the wedding (about 2 weeks later we think) we want the best photos from this time in our lives to be together and take time to get extactly what we want, but maybe the day after is our best bet - def something to consider....
@cwat12: Our "day after" session ended up being about a month after our wedding. It was originally scheduled for the day after our wedding, but we had a death in the family several days before the wedding, so we had family business to attend to on the actual day after our wedding. Our photographer was super understanding and let us re-schedule for her first available weekend slot. So I think you'd be fine to schedule the portrait session for a few weeks later. I've even seen couples wait and do it on their first anniversary, which is pretty neat, too.

Mr. LK and I chose to spend most of our wedding day with our family and friends, meaning that we intentionally did not allocate a lot of time for formal photos of us. Instead, we chose to book a day after photo session with our photographer, and we had so much fun!
