@Mrsdickinson:  Sleep in and enjoy the day off together?  If we don’t leave the day after for our honeymoon, we are both going to work.  So sad, but we need to save the vacation time.

We organized a bbq/street hockey game. It was perfect. We got to eat leftover wedding food, had some fun with some of our oot guests we don’t see often and just got to let loose!

Had breakfast with my BIL and SIL, checked out of our accommodation and went across the road for elevenses with one of my chums then came home to open all our cards and gifts and relax. Later in the afternoon one of our best friends who’d travelled down from Up North for the wedding came over to stay for the rest of the weekend and we had a fantastic dog walk and a lovely dinner. All great chilled out things to do in good company.

If I were you I’d plan to do as little as possible but do it in good company!

Our wedding is a mountain town about an hour outside of our city so we’re staying at a hotel… we’re just planning on staying there for a couple more nights to spend time together, then go on our honeymoon a few months later.

ETA: We have some guests coming in from different provinces for the wedding so we would like to spend some time with them the day after the wedding too.

The day after our wedding was Mother’s Day, so we had brunch with my extended family, and then went to hubby’s parents house for a BBQ. It was fun! But I was bummed that I had to go back to work on Monday and hubby was off until Thursday lol.

We hosted a newlywed breakfast for all of our guests, then packed up and went home with our kiddo. Life went back to normal. NBD

We had brunch with family and out of town guests, then drove home for 8 hours!  (We got married in my hometown, where I no longer live)

Ugh we didn’t relax or do anything romantic…

-We had a brunch with our close relatives at my parent’s house so we helped set up and clean up.

-I got my hair chopped.

-We cleaned out and washed the centerpiece vases because they were rented

-Visited his grandma on the hospital

-Finally went out for a nice dinner and collapsed into bed.

The day after that we made the 8 hour drive back to Ohio :/

@SweetFlower:  Haha sounds like us- except we didn’t drive back until two days after. 8 hour drives are not very romantic 🙂

@Mrsdickinson:  MIL requested we open gifts, so we said ok. We opened gifts, had a quick lunch, and then took our marital mountain of mess home, lol.

@MrsBeck:  Usually we hate the 8 hour drive, but it was actually really nice for us to have 8 hours together to relfect on everything!  We opened up our cards on the way, which was kind of neat.  But again, other than that one time, the drive is way too long.

@SweetFlower:  I wish we had thought to open the cards during the drive! That’s such a good idea! That definitely would have made it go faster.

The day after our wedding we get a champagne breakfast as part of our wedding package. We’ll see off the guests who head home that day, then we’re having lunch and drinks with those who are more local. I imagine you’ll be so exhausted you won’t want to do too much!
