Our DOC came with our venue. She did all the last minute talking/set -ups with al of our vendors. She included the rehearsal. We got to meet with her as often as we needed.

@missmature: I haven’t heard of that before. Are you not getting ANY days free to consult with her? How does he/she know what you are expecting on your day, if they don’t meet with you. That sounds a little crazy to me.

The one I think I’m going to use has four meetings built into the DOC package.

I have a reg coordinator and a Day of coordinator….$75 an hour is def CRAZY!! there should be one set price for her fees…usually around $350-500 you have a few meeting before your day…so she is not running around looking lost and bothering you with questions on your big day. She is there the wedding day for set up and CLEAN -up. usually you give her a deposit, sign a contract and meet with her around 4 weekd prior to your big day. I def think you should shop aorund more..cuz she is def over charging you!

I HAD a wedding planner, it’s a really long story but we had to end our relationship with her. She offered to just be our DOC with one meeting a week before the wedding, an hour to help with the rehearsal, and then be there the day of the wedding, all for $550. For that money it didn’t seem like a very good deal for only one meeting a week prior.

We had a planner that included coordinating things with vendors the week of, setting up the wedding weekend timeline, a meeting the week of the wedding, rehearsal coverage wi an assistant and coverage the day of the wedding for as long as we needed her and an assistant (which wound up being 2pm to 10pm) for $1450. The other things she did leading up to the wedding were $75/hr.

Just like avg cost of a wedding, his will vary depending upon region and time of year.

Mine was 500 for 8 hours day of wedding or 7 hoours day of wedding and 1 hour rehearsal. I met with her once and did a lot of email.

She was sooo worth it day of. We didnt have to hink about coordinating our vendors (which we hired independently of the venue) time schedule and she asked me questions I hadnt thought about.

I run an event business, and my DOC package only includes 2 meeting – one initial meet and greet where details are discussed and timelines are drafted, and then a final one a week before or so.

Unlimited phone calls and emails are included.  I am pretty flexible though, it is in my best interest to meet more than twice if I feel it is necessary.  If I don’t, then I hope my clients trust me and my capabilities.  I don’t want to look bad!

My day of coordinator was 400 dollars she emailed with advice and answers to many questions for the full year of planning and then we had one meeting prior to wedding. She came to rehearsal and to wedding. Not worth it, but only because she didnt seem interested in helping.

My sister had the exact same deal with a different coordinator (one meeting, as many emails, rehearsal then the day of) hers was worth SO much more than we paid her.
