4 hours doesn't seem like a very long time to me. My coordinator is costing me $400 but she is available to me the entire day.
The DOC quotes I have recieved are ranging $600-$1200, also considering we are in different areas. I think if you just need someone for the beginning of the reception to run smoothly definitely go for it, it is a great price.
$850 is the lowest I've found so far for someone really reputable in my area. I'm searching!
I got my DOC for $350 for the same amount and I thought I was getting a deal but...my church has a coordinator and my reception venue is fully staffed with people to set up as long as I provide instructions and photos so I'm letting my DOC go...
but to answer your question, I think its a good price
4 hours is not enough time. She needs to be there to oversee the entire set up, wedding and take down. You don't want to be worried about all those details. In fact the set up and take down are some of the most important job functions for the DOC. Also, make sure that she is available to meet with you before the wedding so you can tell her exactly what needs to be done, who is the point person for every vendor and aspect of the wedding. That takes time so she needs to include that in the price as well.
While the price is cheap, I don't think you're getting everything you need.
I paid $2k for mine (she was worth every penny) - and do some DOC myself on the side and charge $700. $340 is a crazy good deal - jump on it!
@ms. rice crispy treat: For the one I chose she does all day the day of (but will probably be able to leave early esp sicne I have a wedding coordinator from the venue). In addition, she will do the rehearsal dinner and has been helping me with decor and stuff, so I got a really good deal! Other places I've seen, have been like 600-800 for day of and included almost all day (I mean you need the most help in the morning to manage the vendors, and will probably leave after dinner)and sometimes the rehearsal.
@Meowkers: I am not requesting the DOC to set-up - my friends and I are going to do that since we will be spending the night at the venue and we have the reception site from 9 am.
I have requested prices from other wedding coordinators.
My venue required me to hire a DOC through them. I'm paying $500 and she is responsible for the rehearsal and will be helping me from start to finish on the day of.
I heard back from several other coordinators. They are $1000 - $1200 plus hotel and gas for the entire day (out of our budget). $340 is in our budget, and even 4 hours will help out.
What do you think about 3-7 or 4-8 instead of 2-6? Our ceremony starts at 3 and the on-site coordinator will be there (as well as at the rehearsal), but I think she will be pulled throughout the site after our ceremony is over.
@ms. rice crispy treat: I dont hink 4 hours is enough time. That is a good price if it was all day. Im getting mine all day for 350 in the Ohio/Michigan area, but I have seen them for up to 2k.
Just ask her how much it'd be to tack another hour on at the end. I wouldn't make it run 3-7 though.

I am DIY basically everything for my wedding. There is a wedding coordinator at the ranch where we are getting married, but she oversees all the weddings in a day so she won't be MINE and only mine. I'm thinking it would be awesome/less stressful to have a DOC for mainly the reception. I spoke to a woman yesterday, and she said it will be $340 for 4 hours: 2 - 6 pm. Our ceremony starts at 3 pm dinner is at 5 pm.
Is this a good price? I have yet to get other quotes (have to follow up), but this woman is local (I'm getting married in the mountain, other companies would be about a 2-hour drive).
Is 4 hours enough time?
