Hi Erin-
I am getting married at Lionscrest as well! I have also heard that the staff and coordinators there are EXCELLENT (from numerous vendors- in fact, that is the first thing they all say when I tell them where I am getting married). For that reason I am not hiring a DOC. However, I have a family friend that served as the "go-to" person at my sisters wedding in September and she graciously offered to do the same for me. She is one of those people that LOVES to be involved in all the little details so she is perfect for the job. Is there someone you know that you are comfortable asking to serve as the "go-to" gal (I understand if not - I would never want any of my guests to feel obligated with a job... our family friend is one of those people that would rather have something to do instead of just being a guest and that is the ONLY reason I am comfortable with the situation)?
If not, I would suggest maybe doing a posting on Craigslist. There has to be someone out there willing to work for nothing/next-to-nothing that is getting started in the business and needs experience and a good recommendation.
I also can NOT believe how much most DOC cost... and like you, I can't justify that cost when I already have coordinators at the location that will handle most of the details.
Good Luck! Let us know what you find!
I met with Keri Scott in the Boulder area. She was great and I think about $1000-$1100 for her services. Her website is http://www.keriscott.com/. I really enjoyed meeting with her but a DOC was not in our budget since we are getting married in Breckenridge. I am also have 2 go to girls who will be like personal attendants during the day. Hope this helps!
The most affordable DOCs I've found were Michelle with Live, Laugh, Love which is based in Littleton, but she was willing to travel to Estes Park for me (phone 303-981-6190) and Estes Park Event Planners (www.estesparkeventplanners.com) which is owned by Laurie Bien. Her husband, ironically, owns the fly shop in Estes Park, and my FI loves that place.
Both were at or below $500.
I also got a reasonable quote from JA Special Events (www.jaspecialeventsandwedddings.com) but she was also giving me a discount because my April wedding is pre-peak season.
The good news is this: with the economy in not-so-great shape, a lot of vendors are willing to negotiate their prices... I guess it's better to make a little less money than to not make any at all. Gotta look for that silver lining!

Hi!
I would suggest Danielle from Something Classic Events. We got her for below $600 and she has helped with SO much more than just being our DOC. She's based out of CO Springs, but does Denver weddings all the time!
I'm gonna go with weddings by meg! She charges 550 for DOC.

Hi Ladies,
I wanted to give a shout out to Lisa Meyer. Her # is 303.718.2072. She went above any beyond the call of duty (helped out with the rehearsal dinner and day of) for $300 (We gave her a $200 tip). She is on top of her game and will do anything and everything to give you your perfect day!
I'm not on WB much (slow day at work), but if you have any questions, you can email me at ErinMarieMack@hotmail.com.
Happy Planning:)

Hi Ladies,
I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a day of coordinator for our June 27th wedding. I'm getting married at Lionscrest Manor and as far as I have heard they really take care of most of the details. I am very organized and have most every detail planned (We've had nearly a 2 year engagement) down to the songs, the list of photos and the day of timeline with vendors names and number; I mostly want to have someone else there to take care of any mishaps so that I can relax and enjoy myself. I've been in touch with Callaluna Events; they have a great reputation but I just can't justify spending $1200-1900 for one day as I feel like I have done a lit of the work and the Lioncrest Staff will do the rest. Does anyone have someone they used that was more reasonable and who they enjoyed working with? Thanks in advance for your help!
