I haven't had my wedding yet, but I've been working with my DOC for semi-planning. She's very detailed-oriented and enthusiastic. I tend to worry a lot and she always manages to calm me down, hehe. Her name is Beverly Johnson of Capries Events: http://www.capriesevents.com/blog/
I had the best DOC for my Dec. wedding!!!!! Her name is Katie from Sara Kate Events and she did so much of the day of and leading up to it! Hiring her was the best decision and she made me calm on the day. I highly recommend her!!!!!

I was going to book with Beverly, but found that for some aspects I needed/wanted, she wanted to stick with the status quo (regarding timing) and that just wasn't going to do. I found someone relatively new in the industry but she's hard working, very, VERY detail oriented, and responsive. And her costs are a lot better than many who are industry staples. I second Christine Viola of Exquisite Affairs Production. I would write her a million positive reviews if I could. She makes something appear out of nothing? Our flowers turned brown? No problem. She will fix it. My husband's tux button fell off? Got that back on in minutes. The bride (that would be me but I am almost embarrassed to tell you this lol) want to modify the length of her bustle half way through the reception? Got that too. I just don't think I would have had a wedding without Christine. I don't know if I would have wanted too! It would have been so stressful!
You must call her - she's simply the best.
I also used exquisite affairs productions and worked with Hollie Holmes. Hollie was completely amazing! She was so calm and down to earth - even with the small issues we had popping up that day. My venue unexpectedly shut the main gates to access the reception hall? She called all of our buses and limos to make sure they were able to find the back entrance and had people posted on the street to give people directions. Can't say enough nice things about her!
I am also using Capries Events and I have to say she has been the best ! She is also assisitng us with design and we have been so amazed by her ideas. One of my bridesmaids also used her and her family is actually the ones who recommended her and couldnt say more great things about how seamless the wedding was and I was a guest so I got a first hand view from a guest point of view. I totally reccomend them !
I'm using Capries Events also. My friend used her for her wedding in Sept 09 and I quickly snatched her up since she came higly reccomended. I am typically neurotic about EVERYTHING and needed someone to hold my hand and help me make decisions. So far I have had NO complaints.

Just wanted to throw in my advice about someone NOT to hire - Jeanne Stark from Hudson Valley Ceremonies (she's the owner). She was the DOC for my wedding. I can give more info to anyone who needs it.
DO NOT hire Tracey or anyone else from Fairy Tale Affairs in NY/Long Island. Total attitude! You will not be happy! I can give specifics if anyone needs it!
