I’m starting to draft out our day of timeline, and it doesn’t seem like there is a ton of wiggle room. Murphy’s law that something likely will go wrong, but I guess I just have to hope it doesn’t!
11:15: Girls leave for salon
11:30 Salon services begin
2:30 Services finish, return to beach house
2:45 Girls get ready
3:00 Guys get ready
3:00 Videographer arrives
3:15 Bus arrives for girls
3:45 Guys drive to venue
4:00-4:15 guests arrive
My dress just slips on and has three buttons, that will be no problem getting dressed in under 15 minutes. But we are renting a beach house and I kind of wanted to get some pictures around there, I’ve left no time for it now :/
The bus needs to drop us off by 3:30 to drive 20 minutes to the hotel to pick up the guests, to return to the venue by 4:25 the latest, since the ceremony is at 4:30. Maybe I just won’t have the bus pick up the girls, and we’ll just drive ourselves?
I already booked all of the salon services, I’m contemplating having them push everything back a half hour though-that will really relieve some of the pressure. Ugh I’m starting to panic about all of this!

@kmarie719: If you can start earlier, why not? You don’t want to have to rush getting ready on your big day! You want things to be more relaxed and worry-free. Pushing it back will ease your mind now and, most likely, also on the day-of.
My photographer told me that if anything is going to screw up the day-of schedule it will be hair/makeup because those things often don’t run on time. She was telling me horror stories of people who are prisoners in the chair–it’s not like you can just say “uhh nevermind, I’ll do it next time.” I’m planning to pad my hair/makeup time with an extra half hour so that even if they’re 15 mins late, we’re still early according to my schedule.

@kmarie719: Definitely start the salon earlier. I wrote in “15 minutes running late time” every hour in my day of schedule.

I think you need to start the salon much earlier. My ceremony was at 6pm, and we started in the morning around 9am. You definitely need more than 15 minutes to get dressed. It can be an emotional thing, it’s photographed. It’s just important that you’re not rushed on your wedding day. You dont need any extra stress.

I have emailed the contact at the salon to try to move the services up, maybe to 10:30?
It’s all the little details that I didn’t think about before, but now it’s time to think about them!

Start salon an hour earlier. I don’t see girls getting ready, one of them a bride in 30 min. Leave for salon at 10:15.
