I’m in total ‘day-dream’ mode today, so I know that you all have the answer to the question I’m about to ask.
Your first dance as husband and wife… What will the song be? Don’t be shy, I know you’ve thought of it… Admit it! For me, there are numerous songs that I love and every time I hear them it almost makes me cry, lol. Here’s my list (in no particular order):
1. My Name is Love – Rob Dickinson (former lead singer of The Catherine Wheel)
2. The Only Exception – Paramore (starts off sad but it’s adorable. The lyrics are the story of my life!!)
3. I Hope Your Heart Runs Empty – Neverending White Lights (very slow and sexy at first, but by the end of the song it’s so sweet you’re almost crying)
4. Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol (starts off slow but it gets fast at the end of the song. And I’ve always thought it was romantic to dance slow to a fast song).
…And if you’re anything like me, you already know what your ‘walk down the aisle’ song will be, the song that you and your dad will be dancing to, and what song you and your new hubby will walk into the reception hall with as everyone cheers.

We’re still trying to decide… Here are a couple of ideas of ours:
1. “Dear Life” – Anothy Hamilton (Really sweet slow song)
2. “I need you” – Leonard Skynard (this song got us through the LDR portion of our relationship)
3. “Sea of Love” – Cat Power
We’re still trying to decide, but we’ve got lots of time!
@Gwen von D: I’m going to listen to all of your songs now and maybe steal a couple!!

Go for it. But be warned…You’ll need a tissue!!

For our first dance I want it to be “Grow Old with You” from the Wedding Singer. It’s just plain adorable and I love Adam Sandler! 🙂

I’ve totally thought about it, too! It was really a no-brainer, though, b/c ‘our song’ is completely appropriate-it’s “Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. It’s so perfect ’cause both of us had bad relationships before one another, and we feel that’s what made us appreciate each other more. I get chills everytime I hear it, and even before I thought about it being our ‘first dance’ song.

@MissBoPeep: OMG that song is so cute!! Nice choice!!

“Free” by Zach Brown Band…but at the ending is kind of weird, I wish I could just edit that part out.

I love “First Dance” by Corey Smith.
We’re pretty good dancers though so I was thinking about doing a waltz or a polka or some kind of choreographed dance. We love taking dancing lessons so I could see us doing that!

I want our first dance to be to Brian Mcknight Every Beat Of My heart we love him. I just love the song it explains exactly how I feel about SO. I can’t wait for that day.

“Sweetest Thing” by U2. It’s ‘our’ song and we’ve known for years it would be our dance. Sometimes we dance to it in the living room. For practice.

I’ve tried to think of songs simple and cute that don’t require a proper waltz or otherwise..
Earth Angel – The Temptations. Yes, from Back to the Future. Love it! Including the introduction of “This is for alll you lovers out there.”
Ice Cream – Sarah Mclaughlin. We both have major sweet tooths.

Oooh, I forgot to add one more to my list, lol. It’s called ‘Rain Song’ by Sunny Day Real Estate. It’s kinda hard to dance to, since it’s mostly just guitar, piano, and light percussion. But the lyrics are so adorable. I think I’d have this song playing in the background when we cut the cake.
OR, the song ‘Broken’ by Amy LeeSeether. It’s more for the couple who love rock music. It’s short and sweet.

We are both totally into music so we know that this is going to be the hardest part of the wedding!
So far, we are thinking
– Real Love, by Regina Spektor
– No-ones gonna love you, by Band of Horses
– Run, by Snow Patrol
But there are about a billion others we could go for too!

@Wonderwoman217: That is such a sweet first dance song! I actually sang that for the first dance at my brother’s wedding (as a surprise for them, so they were dancing and crying, lol).
My current fave is “Only Hope” by Switchfoot. I’ve also always had a soft spot for “Grow Old Along With Me” by John Lennon.
