We got 28 inches in my neighborhood, according to the Washington Post. It was nuts! We lost power Friday night and got it back mid-day Saturday (thank heavens). Lost cable, phone & internet from Friday at 6 p.m. until a couple of hours ago. And we're supposed to get more this week - yuck!! Here are some pics of my car buried, my street, my daughter (in the white coat).
This snow storm def put a damper on the weekend!
I am a makeup Artist out of DC/MD/VA area and it was not easy getting the car out of the driveway so I could make my way out to my brides for makeup trials!
I am so happy most of you have spring or summer or early fall weddings..dec jan and feb are just to unpredictable for weddings!!!
Some friends from DC/NoVa/Ricmond couldn't come to BFF's wedding yesterday in VA Beach, we missed them but, its better to be safe!! But even with the snow storm most of the 360 people on the guest list made it out!! That's LOVE!!
Miss D'Orsay, my fiance and I both work for the federal government and are so so happy not to have work tomorrow! We were stir crazy yesterday so went on a four mile hike in Rock Creek (which caused terrible blisters on my heels from my Hunter Wellingtons) and it was so fun to encounter so many other neighbors/DC'ers around. We were supposed to host a Super Bowl party tonight but because of bus service, it was just us. I spent most of the night working on our registries and guest list. This weather is crazy! I'm never home so I'm sure my fiance is so sick of me at this point! Thank goodness for wine and cocktails!
Federal government closed Tuesday as well!! And with the impending storm it will most likely be closed on Wednesday as well!! FSIL has been here since Thursday evening and was supposed to fly out yesterday, obviously canceled, then today her 2nd flight was canceled now she is supposed to fly out tomorrow morning at 9 AM but she doesnt have an official seat yet because of how overbooked the flights are!!! I cant believe all of this snow!
Hold onto your (snow)pants ladies! We have another one coming our way. I am hearing between 12 - 20. Ugh. I am so sick and tired of snow!
I am so sick of snow, too, but I feel like I'm a kid again with all the snow days off from work, haha.
OMG im so sick of snow. it would be fine if i hadnt had 2 weeks of work off in the past month, but i hate to say it i MISS WORK lol

Ugh. Even though we get DC Locality Pay down in Southern Maryland, we are not included in the Federal Government snow closures unless they list Patuxent River Naval Air Station on closures list. Which has not happened since Hurricane Isabel in '03. Boo. I hate taking vacation leave when I can't get to work!
I can't get to work, either, and I have to use my vacation leave for this week. I tried to get to work today but I don't have 4 wheel drive and it was a disaster. I went two miles before giving up (work is 30 miles away).
I'm super bummed because I've been saving my vacation time for the honeymoon, and now I'll have to take our honeymoon mostly unpaid. :(
@sunnydebs - that really sucks!! Im sorry youll have to miss out on your vacation time :-(
This is freaking ridiculous, with MARC service canceled, and Metro only underground I really hope the OPM closes the fed gov't tomorrow!
i heard we're having more snow! i actually don't mind...more time for me to spend with my loved ones. yipeee
