Do you guys have an idea for what time? I work in Tysons Corner, so it might take me a while to get there, but I would love to meet up.
I voted either, I'll let you know after I talk to J which is actually better for me... I'm guessing Thursday (even though I get back into town after a week at my parents' that day) because Friday his students have a half day I THINK, so he'll probably want to go out Friday night :)
I said Friday just because I live in Tysons and dont really want to go downtown on a week night but if it were Thursday I would still come!

Hey! Clarebee was nice enough to send me a message about this! Friday works better for me., but if it is before 8 on Thursday I can stop by for a little while. This is so exciting!!
Just saw something on twitter that there's a "tweetup" at Urbana on the 21st. So I have a feeling it could be a little packed in there that day, not to mention confusing for us to all find each other. Here's the link: http://twtvite.com/0859s3
I've never BEEN to Urbana---is it big enough that we could still manage while there's another similar (but larger) sort of thing going on? Or should we just opt for Friday instead?
Either one works for me! I work near Union Station, so I'm fine with anything on the Hill, downtown, etc. The only place that's more difficult for for me is Georgetown, but even that's doable. :)
@sunnydebs- I've never been to Urbana either, and that does sound like it might be problematic.
I voted for Thursday because I'll be in the city for work already, so that would be easiest.
Hi, I'm the person organizing stuff. If there's a tweetup, I'm a little hesitant to also have the happy hour there, as well. It might be better to do it Friday...? Or if people are super set on Thursday, we can always open up the floor to a couple of suggestions on venue?

I'm open to anything! I do get back into town (going up to see my parents for a few days) on the 21st, flying into Reagan around quarter after 6, so somewhere convenient to the metro would be great for me!

hehehe.... ChelseaMorning and I just had dinner there a few nights ago. It's really good! It took a while to get a table though. Anyone want to go early (since they don't take reservations)?
I can get there earlier than 6 (though no promises how much space they'll let me take over)! I work just a few blocks away and get out well before 6. Anyone want to meet me at 5:30 to help me hold space?
Alternatively, we could meet at Ella's, which is just a few blocks away from Matchbox - it has delicious brick oven pizzas like Matchbox, has a good happy hour, and does take reservations.
Ooo Ella's is great. Crowded, but great! Why don't we try that? Since our group is so large, we'd probably need a reservation.
If people like that idea, I'll call and make a reservation?
I'm in, but I'll be late. I'll probably get there around 7 (my plane lands at Reagan at 6:15 and I won't be checking bags, so I'll just hop on the metro and head straight up).
I am upset because I JUST realized that I have plans to go to Rasika with a friend on the 21st. :( Hope you all have fun- would love to make it next time!

I'm so glad you guys expressed interest! :-) Looks like we've settled on a location (Urbana at Dupont), now we just need to sort out a date. Can you please fill out the poll with your preference?
