@AutumnElegance: I'd never heard of them, but thanks for clueing me in! I've been lusting after gold chargers and figured I could never afford them. I hope others chime in about whether theyre reliable - this seems like the answers to my hopes!
I went ahead and signed a contract with them, so I hope it's legit and reliable :)
I requested a quote and wrote back with a few questions:
- At what time do you generally drop off/pick up the chargers?
- Do they need to be boxed or stacked for pick-up?
- When do we finalize the contract (with event address and times?)
- How many times are your chargers generally used? How often do you replace chipped/scratched chargers?
- Can you provide references from previous customers, or do you have a review page, ie: on WeddingWire or Yelp?
I'll let you know what I hear back if you're interested!
BTW, are you having your reception in the DC area or having them shipped?
Yeah I asked a few questions about the delivery process and timing. My reception is in Maryland, just outside DC. Sounds like they could drop them off wherever was easiest for me a few days before the wedding and pick them up a few days after.
@toshella: Did you hear back from them yet? I'm interested, too. My wedding is in Charlottesville, and we're heading down from DC a couple days before the wedding.
Here's the reply I got:
For local clients, we typically deliver chargers 1-3 days before an event and pick them up 1-2 days afterwards. However, every client’s situation and/or time frame is different so we’re happy to adapt to the bride’s specifications.
We do prefer that the chargers are boxed after an event unless we are scheduled to pick them up immediately after your guests have vacated the venue. In this case, we will collect the chargers from the tables and package them accordingly.
Your final head count, payment, venue address and delivery/pick-up times are due 30 days before your event.
Along with sanitized measures, every charger is thoroughly inspected for chips/cracks before and after every event. As we do not rent damaged items, chargers that show signs of wear will automatically be taken out of inventory and replaced accordingly. We have more than 500 gold and silver chargers, but only book one event per week to ensure their quality.
We recently set up a page on WeddingWire for clients to post their feedback.
I thought they sounded good, and went ahead and signed the contact/put down the deposit. Yay chargers! :D
Yeah, that's what they told me too. I'm so excited that I found them-- I was starting to think I wouldn't be able to afford chargers. Hope they work out for everyone.
Hey!
Thank goodness I saw your posts on here ladies! I saw them advertise on Craigslist and wanted to see if anyone used them before.
WOW thanks for the post. Hopefully they arent booked for my wedding in may. I just might use them
PS I'm not sure I would rent chargers. For my 75 person wedding I bought chargers and afterwards at least 10 were broken. Shipping these and moving them around was really hard too (that's how most got broken). Also, cleaning them took like 4 hours because of all the stuck on food.
Make sure that they're glass or metal if you're renting them. Mine were just the regular plastic ones from BBB.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Has anyone in the DC area rented chargers from this site?
http://www.mywedding.com/cheaprentalchargers/index.html
I think they've advertised on here before, which is how I found out about them. I'm about to put down a deposit since they have a 50% off sale, but I'm just a little bit hestitant. So I'm wondering if others have used them and found them reliable and found the quality of the chargers good?
Thanks!
