There are so many fabulous hotels in DC--I should know I basically live in them. My favourite is the Hey Adams Hotel (closest you can get to the white house without a secret service escort) Also the St Regis is enchanting. If you are looking for an affordable boutique hotel try Westin Embassy Row. Go to the Jefferson Memorial at night..its open til Midnight and quite beautiful. Best dinner you can buy is at Proof near the national portrait gallery--also worth the trip.
All of the above are fabulous! The Kimpton brand of boutique hotels has several stylish locations in DC that are all beautiful and in great locations. http://kimptonhotels.com/hotels/hotels-washingtondc.aspx
The Willard and Hay Adams are centrally located, as is The Hay Adams. Marriott at Metro Center is beautiful and centrally located. My favorite though, is The Mayflower. . . pricey, but very old and beautiful.
I love Hotel Lombardi! It's a beautiful antique historic small hotel. We randomly stumbled upon it when we were there in 2007 and ended up spending 2 nites there! It's not some big lavish place but check it out! I think its on the national registry for historic places!

We are heading to DC for the weekend to unwind after our wedding last weekend. Any recommendations for hotels? Thanks!
