Hello Ladies,

Sorry that this post is a little on the whiny side -- but I'm feeling a little panicky right now.  My FI and I got engaged just under 2 months ago, and our wedding is in less than 4 months!!  We've booked the venue and the event decorator (for mandap etc), but are stuck on the photographer, finding a pundit, a DJ, etc.  If you have used the services of any of the following vendors (or have any other vendors you want to recommend in the DC/VA area), please let me know! 

We are looking at two DJs:  the Dohl Xperience and Planet DJ Productions.  Anyone used either of these companies?  (We love dancing so this is important to FI & me!)

Photographer:  We met with several so far, but we are specifically looking for a photographer that is reasonably priced and has a lot of experience with Hindu weddings.  Regeti's Photography was recommended by they are definitely out of our price range!  any other recommendations?

Recommendations for make-up/hair and mehndi?

And finally, any recommendations for a priest that speaks Gujarati, and also English fluently?

I actually planned my wedding reception in DC and we used the following vendors:

DJ: DJ Gaurav. He spins amazing music! A good mix of everything to get the crowd going. He is in NY/NJ area but would travel to DC. http://www.djgaurav.com/ He can also bring screen/projector for slideshow and dhol player.

Photographer: We were in the same position where we were not sure which photographer to get because the really good ones were out of our budget range. We ended up going with Ben Rassmussen http://www.rasmussenphoto.com/. He does not have a lot of experience with South Asian Weddings but we loved our reception photos and he worked with our budget. Another recommendation is Photographick Studios. Sunny Mathur's work is phenomenal, check him at: http://www.photographick.com/

Make up, Hair and Mehendi: I have two separate recommendations that I used for my reception and engagement party: Mala Amin and Make up by Suman. Mala did my mehendi and makeup/hair/fixing of dupatta for my reception. Suman did my make up, hair, fixing of dupatta for my engagement party. Both are fabulous.

I am not too sure about the priest. Hope this helps!
