@badabing88:  You cut them out of your life.  Also, anyone willing to poke fun at your misfortune or your private things are no friends. Guessing that whole group is nothing but a bunch if frienemies.

@badabing88:  I have honestly never had one of these…..and I think if someone decided to reveal something I specifically requested be kept private in a social setting so that all could laugh at my expense, I would drop the cash for my drink on the table and leave….because those aren’t friends – they’re harpies

@drummerbride:  +1

I had a person like that in my life who made fun of me breaking my ankle on FB. Yeah I no longer have nothing to do with her…

@badabing88:  hmmm. Has she ever done anything like this before? Is it possible the appointment was something vaguely shocking to her? Not that it would be any excuse, but I guess if a friend of mine was going to, like, get her butthole bleached or something, I would have a really hard time not discussing that with at least one other person to see if it was normal to be as thrown off by that as I would be. If she’s otherwise been a good friend, could this be a one-time slip? Then you might just want to talk to her about it and possibly forgive her. But if this isn’t the first time, then I’m sure it won’t be the last either and it’s time to back away.

@badabing88:  If this has anything to do with last night, you punch her in the face and be like, “I guess you won’t be ____ any time soon with that black eye.”

@drummerbride:  I agree, I don’t bother wasting my time.

My DH worked with a lady that was a definite frienemy. She possessed my two pet peeve qualities of being flakely and fake…grrr! Despite it all I tried to be friends with her and socialize a bit. Eventually I just got tired of walking on eggshells and all the bullshit. She would constantly lie about weightloss and before I could say hi she would brag about being down a size, losing 10 pounds etc. Let me just say if she was down all those sizes and had lost all that weight she would literally blow away in the wind! I told my DH that while I would remain friendly and civil we were definitely not friends and I wasn’t going to bother trying to make it work. I ran into her at a store recently and said and not a lot more. I didn’t even mention it to my DH although she did at work the next day. I just want little to do with her at this point.

I’ve never had a frenemy but I would cut them out of my life. You don’t need toxic friendships like that. You can find much better friends 🙂

@badabing88:  Oh yeah she said something along the lines of you get what you deserve, something along that line.  Was totally passive agressive but most definately could tell it was directed at me. That was almost a year ago.

@badabing88:  I’m really glad that your last sentence was that you are not keeping her around. I was worried as I was reading your post, but I know you are not the type to keep these toxic people in your life – so good for you.

Big surprise at the old +1. She’d be out of my life faster than she could say, bitch.

@badabing88:  Weird….I guess I’m just such a frightening bitch in real life that no one would dare try something like that with me….plus I have no time for people that aren’t interesting…that weeds out a lot of the crap too…either way, what a hag!
