Maybe its just me and my disfunctional family and in laws, but I am having such an awful time trying to deal with the negativty from family and friends.

MIL who has nothing nice to say ever regarding our destination wedding, despite it being her idea.

Bridesmaids who never seem to be available for anything, let alone to talk about the wedding.

I'm not sure if people arent taking our wedding seriously because weve been together so long and had a long engagement before we set a date, but this is ridiculous. I have 10 months til my wedding and for the past month, ive tried 4 times to set a date with my BM's and Mother to go dress shopping and its just clearly not in their schedule.

Is anyone else have trouble witht the negativity and being excited about their wedding?

Its really hard to get EVERYONE together for dress shopping, planning etc. I had the same feeling when I was planning too (now I'm a MOH!) . Just set a date that your mom (or whoever it the most important) can do and if they can come- great, if not you will try dresses several times. And when it comes to BM dresses- again set a date- if they can come they get to share opinions.. if they cant make it they don't get to complain!

I think it's pretty standard in most weddings... there is always someone!!!  I have 4 bridesmaids total, and 2 of them know NOTHING about the wedding (which is in 4 months) because they ignore me, or refuse to talk about it... and recently, my MOH got engaged and started planning her own wedding (which I'm super excited about!) but now she isn't doing anything for my wedding, even when my mom calls her numerous times to try and talk about the shower, she just never calls back (3 months worth of phone calls!!!) unfortunately, it's a tough thing!  Goodluck though.. go out, have fun and do what you need to!!
