I am coming here today to join the ranks of the money… the brides who HATE the post office. I worked for HOURS planning and meticulously executing my invitation plan. They were PERFECT from the hand embossed starfish on the pocket fold and envelope, to the custom design stamp, and hand glued pieces.. see my them here
Then… we went to the post office. I had them weighed before ordering the stamps. Found the best option, and PAID THE EXTRA 10 cents each so they woudln’t go through the machine. They were able to “fit” barely but I knew they were likely to get caught and ruined so I forked up the extra cash.
My fiance dropped our little bundles of joy at the post office and as instructed per crazy me told the teller 5 TIMES do NOT put them through the machine.. we paid extra… see postage stamp. The teller nodded his head… Fiance left… AND TELLER SHOVED THOSE BABIES THROUGH THE MACHINE. The idea of him watching my fiance leave and then giggling with glee as he sent each of my lovelies through the dreaded machine makes me want to kick something.
The invites arrived at most locations with various amounts of wear and tear. My lovely embossed envelope smeared and torn in most cases but invitation intact. Fine whatever… Those are irritating… BUT my friends its the ones that never made it that is the point of my rant today.
Some were so badly obliterated per the machinet that they are nowhere to be found.. gone.. lost in the land where the second socks go. WTF!???
So now i have guests who don’t know there are invited.. barely enough extra invites to send out and just lots of pent up anger towards a federal institution known as the USPS.
