I am extremely annoyed with you. First you took forever to cut to size. Then the sewing machine kept snagging. When that wasn't enough frustration, you wouldn't gather prperly. And now who could forget your refusal to attach to the dang comb!

Grrrr to you, you piece of tule and lace!

    LOL

This may be an obvious one....but do you have the right needle on for that? Because I made the same mistake with using a needle for generic sewing/cotton on some really nice silk and it took me FOREVER to realize there are needles FOR different kinds of materials.

Yeah I used the right needle, its just being a butt. However, see below for my 2nd letter:

    Dear veil,

Yes, its me again. I just wanted to let you know: YOU WILL NOT WIN THIS FIGHT. Mr. Blue binder clip is on my side and we will prevail!

when im sewing very fine fabric and lace, i like to sew it with some tissue paper on the bottom of the fabric and once you have finished sewing , you can easily rip the tissue paper away from the fabric. i found this helps with the stitches

    goodluck!

    Dear veil take 3,

I have gotten the comb attached to you, there is no use in fighting anymore. This battle has been won. Tomorrow I will conquer you completely. Thats right, your lack of lower bottom dip will be altered. Be prepared to succumb to my sewing powers!

Mark my words: I will mold you into the most perfect veil!

    Dear veil,

I am sorry about yesterday. I was too hard on you. You look good, really I mean it. Can you ever forgive me? Probably not. Which is why you might have to go under the knife again.

I cannot risk you taking your revenge in the middle of my ceremony by laying weird and looking all straight across my butt.

Bees, please look over the following pictures of how the veil is now. The first is how I plan on situating it before walking down, notice the back doesn't look that bad. The second is when the veil takes it's revenge and lays behind my face and shoulders. Notice the lack of dip? What do you think?

I think it looks fine! I think nobody would notice anything weird unless they get SUPER close and stare at your veil...so they probably won't notice

    I think it looks amazing!

What's a dip? the part where it's lower in the middle? or the little ridg-y things all along it (they look like shallow Us)? or something else?

I think it looks fantastic the way it is! I think the "dip" is pronounced enough that no one would think anything of it.

Can you add a new poll choice that says "stlgingko, this looks amazing, you should make veils for a living!" ???  :)

I think the veil looks great!  What does your dress look like?

ahhh -- I think it looks beautiful the way it is!

With as tricky as it's been to sew, I would be afraid it would snag or something and end up shorter all around if you try to edit it too much. Plus it looks great how it is!

good job :) - I agree with the above poster that you could probably make and sell veils; maybe on Etsy, if you wanted to!

How did you attach the lace to the tulle?

I put the lace on the perimeter of the tule and sewed the edge, then since it is tall lace I had to lay it flat along the curve (which required so snips and relaying). all in all worth saving the $$

    Dear veil,

You are one lucky piece of tule and lace. You will not be going under the knife again. It has been deemed that you are acceptable to wear to the ceremony, however I do have some other news. After the ceremony you will not be on my head. You will be replaced by the headband.

In time I'm sure you will come to realize that this is for the best,

    stlginkgo

ps: you can see my headband on this post
