Background: I was a vet tech in Vegas, got laid off (THANKS ECONOMY!) moved to California to be with my now Fiance, FI landed a job by accidentally walking onto the wrong dealership car lot and got the job anyhow, his boss got my job where I work at now, which is sales/finance at an independent used car dealership. Commission + no benefis + a boss who gives you crap every time you go to get your paycheck, is new to running a business and pesters your clients and scares them off + co-workers who hate the job, and therefore complain about the pay in front of customers (EEK!)
I put in applications to every vet office when I moved here. I got a promising hit off of one, did a work-in interview, they loved, loved, loved me and the woman who was supposed to leave so I can take her position never did.
Well, this car dealership job has been no wak in the park, and I decided that being manipulative and mean is NOT for me! I guess other people realized that as well, as two of my co-workers up and quit within a week of one another. It’s been stressful. I’m a young woman who is in a HUGE office by herself at night until 8:00 P.M. during tax return season — not okay with that!
It just so happens that vet office called me the day after my second co-worker quit. They have an immediate position and only contacted ME for it! YIPPEEEE! Pension, health, dental, paid vacation, literally $2.00 better in pay per hour — I’m all in! I start April the 1st. Nobody at my job knows yet. I’m putting in a one-week notice the week prior to me starting the vet office. I don’t trust my current boss to be civil and ethical when I put in my leave. Not sure if he’ll pay me for my last week with him, nonetheless the full two weeks should I put in a 2-week notice.
SO EXCITED to do something I love and get paid well + great benefits. I feel sneakily happy to get out of this dealership lot. Everyone is like, “Why are you so happy lately?!” Oh. . . I just am! >:P Hahahaha.
Anyone have a job they had to get out of ASAP otherwise they’d lose their mind? Why?
