Hi bees, I thought i’d start a ‘monthly’ post for us December bees. We can share sucess, vent frustrations & all the in between on a monthly basis as we head closer to the big day!
I’ve booked: venue + reception, photographer, cake, purchased dress, finalised STD’s, honeymoon cruise
I’m looking into: florist, videographer, mini moon location, working on invites, oh, & i need to find a priest to marry us!
Highlight of the month: paying dress in full 🙂
Frustration of the month: finding out florist double booked us
How about you ladies?

You are much more organized than I am. I think the only thing I’ve accomplished is starting a secret pinterest board. 😉
I’ve booked:photographers (though, to be fair, we had to reschedule our date from this summer and they said they would shoot our new one in December). Oh yes, and I have our music for the ceremony booked.
I’m looking into: venue (ARGH), caterer, cake, videographer, DJ, dress, wholesale flower order, paper products…pretty much everything.
Highlight of the month: Going to the wedding show and eating lots of cake! And trying on a few gorgeous dresses. But mainly the cake.
Frustration of the month: Because we had to push out our original date, a lot of this month was spent working through the residual frustration of that. And then there’s the general frustration that it’s too cold to have a barn wedding in December, or all the cool venues are booked or too expensive, etc. I’ve got an appoinment next Wednesday to tour an old school building, so keeping my fingers crossed. 😉

I have my dress, booked my venue, have my photographer and bought a few decorations as they went on sale after christmas. You are both much more on top of things than me!

@nomihomee: I agree! @Sugar_and_Spice, @Nic01: you girls are on top of it!
I love this idea and def will look back each month!
I’ve booked: church, venue for reception, photographers, cake woman, picked colors, florist, almost done finalizing the guest list, asked all bridal party/readers/singers etc
I’m looking into: videographer, DJ (had 1 meeting but want to have another to determine pricing), invitations (reached out to 3 designers just need to pick), scheduling the engagement photos, honeymoon
Highlight of the month: Started my FI’s gift! Finalized colors!
Frustration of the month: Not knowing if I really want a videographer or not. In honesty, it really it’s been blissful 🙂

I hope we can keep up on these monthlys!
so far i have the venue, photographer, dj, officiant, his ring, bridesmaids gifts, (TONS) of silver holiday decorations, favors, i decided to make a brooch bouquet and started collecting those, (with the help of my grandma) and i bought my dress yesterday!
im currently researching for a baker and invitations
my highlight of the month was buying my dress!
my frustration of the month was also buying my dress… it was so much more stressful than i thought it would be! i made the mistake of trying on dresses after i already knew i had found the one. that made for a few days of headaches and sleepless nights.
im glad to hear from other december ’13 brides! congrats ladies!

What a cute idea!
I’ve booked: Church, Priest, Reception, seamstress
I’ve bought: My dress, material to make veil, bridesmaids’ gifts, wedding shoes, some ornaments for guest gifts
I’m looking into: florist, DJ, photographer, invitations, baker, and BM’s dresses
Highlight of the month: Asking my grandfather and 3 yr old cousin to be my ringbearers. They’re attached at the hip – it’s going to be so adorable!
Frustration of the month: Not being able to sleep because of excitement

@Sugar_and_Spice: Ekk! I can imagine how much stress changing the date would be! Our florist double booked us & that alone caused me 3 x sleepless nights! With the barn idea, even if it’s cold, would you not be abe to have heaters throughout? Thinking of you for Wednesday – fingers crossed it’s the best & most amazing venue ever! And at a really good price 🙂
@ChickenNoodle: with our date, i feel like we had to book most suppliers at the head of time. I would have been in trouble if we booked NYE wedding, had an enagagement for 20 months & then could’nt find anyone to work with us. Now THAT would have driven me insane! My 2 cents for your fustration – go with the videographer – i’m of the thought process that you if you the day taped you have teh option to go back & watch it (or not). But if you don’t, then you dont have that choice. If anything, let your budget determine how much of it you get taped. I’ve just done through that same process…
And Ps. what are you doing for your FI’s gift?? i need ideas!! And it sounds as if i need to start on it soon!

@mrsztobee: No more dress shopping!!! I also did that, but then mum was involved in purchasing the second dress & we spend a lot more than what we wanted to. That alone made me stop looking. I’m even afraid to open up any dress posts!!
@DDG84: Mother’s lack of interest – i’d give her time….. i’m sure that within a couple of months she will be all over your plans like afat kid wanting cake 🙂
@lkaye: Grandfather + 3yr old = ringbearers. That is gorgeous!! And you need to sleep over the next 11 months !
So ladies, i’m going to try VERY hard to try to keep these monthyls up. I work in accounts, which is based on end of month deadlines, i will add to my list ‘wedding bee’. If i can do it within the first week of the month, we then have a whole month to discuss – so next month may be a little ‘overlapping’!

@Nic01: Thank you for your kind words!! My Mom has them twisted because its my second wedding and FI’s first — so were having a wedding. FI and I are paying for it entirely. Shes too concerned with what the world is going to think because Im getting married again. (My first marriage barely lasted a year, I was young and stupid and he cheated on me so I peaced out).

@DDG84: Ahhh… in the nicest possible way..she’ll get over it once she realises how happy you are. Just have to think of sneaky way to give her jobs that she will fully immerse herself in 🙂
