Hi ScarletBegonia:
I am your wedding Twin i am getting married December 17th 2011 i am so excited get plans moving. What are your colors? Flower ideas etc?
Im getting married Dec. 18th! =)
Our venue is booked, we booked our photography today, and the dress is due in then end of this month!
YAY! It feels super real now! And I am so glad to have a friend getting married in May, so that should be fun to get me into the groove of things!
Congrats to everyone!
Yay! Date twins finally! i don't have colours or anything..not really doing that kind of wedding. Our venue (Peterson's Champagne House in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales) is really beautiful all on its own, so we're not doing flowers or centrepieces or much decoration, except possibly thick white candles. I'll be carrying some australian native flowers as my bouquet and my fiance will have one as his bout, and that will be it for flowers. I only have one bridesmaid, so i'm letting her choose her dress (and she may end up wearing her wedding dress! its silver).
I'm super excited. My parents are visiting me from Canada right now and we're going to have lunch at the venue tomorrow, i can't WAIT to see it again!
Have you ladies got your venues or dresses or anything done? I feel silly having them all done - like i won't have anything to do this year!
@CupCakeMeg: lets call ourselves weekend date twins! whats your dress like???
@ScarletBegonia:Don't worry! When I first got engaged, I couldn't wait to jump in and get started! I have a lot done already, but for a different reason than you. Our wedding was originally set for March 5th, but we had to postpone. So there were a lot of things that we done already, but there's still plenty left to do. I have the church and reception venue, and my dress and veil. Our colors are light blue and chocolate brown, and I'm going for a soft, romantic feel without being too girly and freaking out my fiance ;) I'm counting down the days!
Hi Girls,
Wedding December 17, 2011 , wedding dress bought, Venue deposit put down, Photographer picked deposit down, need a DJ, Limo, (Veil , shoes etc little things ) Favors: DIY them since getting married before Christmas our favors are red and clear ornaments with stencil silver wedding bells and hearts.. i only have to make about 106 of those . Other than that things are coming along besides the reception time gap.
Time gap Catholic wedding ceromony @ 2pm -2:45 maybe 3pm we set our reception for 5 but we have OOT guests and dont want them to drive back home. need to figure out cocktail hour time in between that for the bridal party to take pcitures as well. ( Need Advice )
I'm a December 17th bride also! Aside from things like date, colors, bridal party, etc., etc., I have the following things done: church and reception venue, food (comes with reception venue), my dress, officiant, wedding bands, and have started work on DIY projects for the flowers (I chose silk flowers over real ones, so all the bouquets and things will be along those lines).
I need to work on Save-the-Dates and photographer next, as well as bridesmaid dresses.
Hooray for progress! You all sound like you're coming along great as well :) Here's to being 8 months and counting toward our respective special days!
ETA: We also have a DJ. A friend of ours who is a media professional was kind enough to do it for us, which is a blessing.
@smiley90: ETA: We also have the DJ. A friend of ours was kind enough to agreed to do it for us, which was a blessing.
I am also your date twin! =)
@CupCakeMeg: I'm also having my wedding in Orange County, CA! Have you thought about what flowers you're going to use? I'm not sure what is in season here at that time.
I'm a date twin too! Less than 6 months to go! Ahh!! I'm working on BM dresses...much more stressful than I thought it would be. I'm considering just having the girls pick out their own but my sister (MOH) and mom don't think that works for, as they call it, a "formal evening winter wedding" I want the dresses to be black and long, which is something that is easy to find in dept. stores and such. What are you girls doing for BM dresses?
@JuliaH17: Hi date twin! I've told my bridesmaids to find their own dresses within a colour scheme of grey-ish-purple-ish mushroomy colour. I've basically given them no direction at all, style, length, etc. I want them to look mismatched but in a bit of a colour theme (the sash on my dress is a dark purplish grey). I've told them i'll pay for them if they are under $200 and give them $200 towards the dress if they find something more expensive. One of my BMs found a designer sheath dress for $900!! Whatever works for her - I think she's trying to pull a pippa middleton ;)
Go with whatever you want! Granted my wedding is a casual summer vineyard wedding (sounds like the opposite of yours, literally!), but really i think mismatched dresses can look amazing no matter what the setting/situation.
Things are starting to happen..we got our invites printed last week, booked our photographer, hotel for the week before the wedding, and going for a tasting next month to chose the food!
Less than 6 months, yikers!
@ScarletBegonia: OMG my FSIL has been dubbed "pippa" among my other BMs. I guess there's on in every wedding party...
@JuliaH17: My BM dresses are long strapless chiffon lavender dresses. I wanted the girls to all match because, like I mentioned above, my FSIL is a "pippa" so I'm not sure I want to give her that much freedom. If all I said was pick a purple dress she'd probably pick a purple dress made out of crystals....
hecks to they Yeeahh!!! for Decemer 17 weddings!!! :) We set the date last December, 2 months after we got engaged!
I think the only things we have left are the bands, the gifts for the party and pastor, shoes, food(we know who is doing it, just don't know what to eat) honeymoon(NYC), and the invitations and programs..
other than that, I think we are READY to roll..
Hello fellow date twins! :)
Almost everything in our wedding is planned, just have to get it now! I can't wait for December!!! Yay!!! :)
I'm December 17, too! It's my grandparent's 62nd anniversary, so I hope that will bring me lots of luck.
just gone 4 month before-wedding-versary!
So excited :):) All we've got left to do is organise transportation from the venue to hotels, and get our bands. Oh and I need to find my shoes.
But I can't wait til December!!!!
I am getting married December 17th! :)
I have everything done, except my centerpieces. Which I know what I want, I just haven't bought the items yet.
Very glad to know I am not the only one.
yay december 17! :)
just bought all my centerpiece supplies last week, and i'm starting to DIY them this weekend!
my bridesmaids are giving me heart palpitations! one won't return my phone calls/text messages/facebook messages... :( i really want her in the wedding, but the dresses were supposed to be ordered on august 18! super last deadline is sept 8, but some of them will need alterations, so i'm all stressed about that! haha... it's always something, right? ;)
still need to book hotel, honeymoon, get tuxes picked out, and figure out transportation...
we, too, are having a catholic ceremony, but we decided against the gap... i might regret it later, but i just couldn't see having everyone mill around my town (where there's nothing to do) for hours waiting on the reception to start... so we're doing the ceremony at 2p, the reception from about 3:30-7:30(ish), and then we are inviting everyone to our favorite local pub to keep the fun going (after everyone changes clothes, of course!)... i figured it wouldn't be awful because it'll be dark super-early anyway, so it'll "feel like nighttime" at the halfway mark of the reception.... heehee...
PHEW! I was starting to get stressed out that I still had so much to do. Glad I'm not alone =)
ME ME ME!!! :P We're getting married December 17th, on our 3 year anniversary :)
The countdown has reached the teens ladies! Just 19 days till we marry our wonderful FIs :)
I'm so excited yet so nervous. There's still SO MUCH TO DO!!!
@yellowshoe: I know!!!
I still need to:
I can do it!!!
DATE TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!! We have been waiting a long time also. We were engaged in May 2010. The day a approaching quickly!!!! (:(
