Just seeing if there are any other bees out there due in December? Seems like there are postings started for all other due dates but our lil holiday babies :)
I'm currently 16 weeks and due on December 26th-ish, showing a lot, and can NOT wait to find out what we are having! Feel fee to share your due dates, cravings, bump photos, your exciting pink/blue (or green) and any other news! Congrats on your lil Sagittarius/Capricorn babies!!!
@FutureMrsZapper So glad you said something :) I am due around December 5th, and we can't hardly wait till next week, that is when we find out who we are having :) I can't wait to go shopping.
I am not showing a lot, i think i am just getting bigger, but hopefully soon i will have a real baby bump. I am week 19. Crawings - mostly spicym picked stuff, and not a big fan of sweets (very stange as i am known for my sweet tooth). As soon as we find out who we are having i am ready to shop and work on baby room :)
Congrats @mashka_f1! Yay for next week, I'm so jealous! My husband is the one who can't wait to shop and thinks that I should be able to tell him what we are having already, like the baby can secretly tell me or something haha
My sister-in-law feels that spicey cravings means a boy (and I've had mostly sweet ones like fruit so she feels I'm having a girl). You'll have to keep me posted so I can see if her theory holds any truth :)
I'm due December 15th! :D
Just "popped" this week, I'd been pretty small until this weekend and now I've got a nice round tummy, hehe
Hoping to find out sex of the baby a week from tomorrow at my anatomy scan, but really just hoping they say "everything looks perfect!"
Haven't had much cravings yet but the other day I had a peach, peach yogurt and peach tea for lunch, so I guess that was a craving, huh? :) haha

bump! there's me
@rachiecakes: very cute bump!
We're due December 29th! No real cravings either here. I didn't get morning sickness which was both great and not so great- I was constantly questioning if I was really pregnant. I've definitely lost shape in my mid section and if I have a tighter shirt on you can tell I have a little bump, but I'm most excited about starting to feel the baby move!
@rachiecakes You look great! Jealous haha
@mschampagne Congrats! You will probably start feeling your lil one in the next few weeks (or any day now!) here and there. It's a nice subtle reassurance of what's going on in there and that it's all okay. I love it!
I'm due Dec 20th ( maybe even the week before), and found out the sex at week 15. It's a boy. I go again on Friday and I'll be 17 weeks so just want to reconfirm. The tech said you can tell as early as 14 weeks but with boys it's much more easier and accurate.
I am craving salty stuff which is strange since I too have had a sweet tooth my whole life!
I am pretty big, with a big belly already, I was on the smaller side before but people are shocked when I tell them how far along I am, I look like I'm 6 months along, it's freaking me out a bit and I did gain almost 15 pound already :(
But congrats to you all on your Dec babies! It's such an exciting time!
Yay for December babies!! I'm due Dec. 11. Very excited to have this post. Rachiecakes you look amazing! I am starting to show a little bit also, but mine seems to be lower - not obviously a bump yet. We've been told it's a boy, with the warning that it was still soon and not necessarily accurate (U/S was at 14 weeks). We'll get another U/S soon and should be able to confirm.
thanks, all! :) I'm excited to look pregnant, finally
- when's everyone's anatomy scan? do you want to know girl or boy - or a surprise? I'm counting down (one week from today! woohoo) cause I can't handle the suspense any longer! hehe.. I hope my baby cooperates ;)
How much weight did you all gain? At first I freaked out because I gained 3-4 pounds very fast, but it slowed down and now at 18 weeks, I'm at 6 pounds gained... Almost scared I'm not gaining enough; however I eat whenever I'm hungry; good portions and all.. I can't see myself eating more without being too stuffed.
Anyway, just curious about how you ladies are doing on that front.
@ams12 Congrats! So lucky you know what you're already! My next appt (17 weeks) is Monday and I won't be having a sonogram till the following visit...stinks.
@mommytobee Congrats to you too! I gained about 3-4 lbs my first trimester and about 2 since. So about 5-6lbs (feels like 10-15lbs) in 16 weeks. My Dr said this has been a healthy weight gain patter and I can expect to gain a pound a week going forward. Holy cow!
Thanks all!
I've gained about 10 so far, though last week I was close to 14 pounds gained and really was freaking out. I wasn't able to go the bathroom for a week ( sorry TMI I know) but now that I have finally went I just weighed myself and I am back down, I've also started to walk a lot more so I think that s helping me a bit.
My first few weeks, weeks 6-10 I gained about 6 pounds. Dr hasn't said anything to me but I do want to ask about it when I go this Friday just to make sure.
I am almost at week 20 and so far i thin i have gained the most in the past couple weeks, right now i am at 18 pounds. My doctor said that it is nothing to worry about, but it does seem like a lot. I am a little worries about the weight, but unless my doctor says something is not right- i am not going to worry about it. I got my tummy measured and was told that the growth is perfect, meaning the baby is growing and that is all i care about :)
On monday we fins out who we are having!
I've gained about 9 pounds at 18 weeks - eeek! I asked my doctor if that was normal and they said that yes, it's perfectly normal for where I should be now. But it feels like a LOT, lol
and they said the same for me - about a pound a week from here on.. woah!
ooh - I want to join!
I'm due Dec. 13th (my mom's birthday) so I'm 18 wks right now. We go in the 25th for our anatomy scan and to find out what we're having - I can't wait!
So far I've been good as far as weight goes. I lost 9 lbs in the first trimester and have only gained one of those back. But I think I'm starting to see the scale go the other way. My doctor seems fine with it and keeps telling me the baby is getting what it needs, but I suspect I'll be starting the climb of gaining at this point :( It was nice while it lasted though right!
Well, we found out today - It's a Girl!!! I am very excited and i was hoping for a girl, my hubby (i think) was hoping for a boy, overall we are very happy! So my chinese calendar prediction was correct!!!
@mashka_f1: Yay, how exciting! Either way is exciting, but it's so cool when you just find out!
@mashka_f1: awesome!! & interesting that the Chinese calendar was correct - I'm curious to see if it works for me :) I should find out tomorrow!
@mashka_f1: So exciting! Congrats on the pink news! My hubby actually wants a girl and my Dr. as of my appt this a.m. is trying to get me in next week for our anatomy scan. We can NOT wait, especially since we thought it'd have to be 3 more weeks!
So I think so far we've got 2 boys and 1 girl! Keep us posted rachiecakes!
@rachiecakes: The Chinese Calendar was correct for me too - predicted a boy, and this is what we're expecting.. Of course there's no certainty until the baby's born and we can actually see it but yeah.
Hi all! I don't get to read or post a lot, but I am due Dec 22 and excited to join you! We have our anatomy scan next week, and can't wait to find out what we are having. I work in a children's hospital, and am REALLY looking forward to having them tell me everything looks normal - I see sick kids and congenital malformations (especially congenital heart disease) all the time and just have a warped perspective that EVERY baby is like that. Which, of course, I know isn't true.
I can't wait to feel the baby move! I'm 18 weeks in a couple of days, not sure if the little cramping-things I feel sometimes are baby, but I think it would help reassure me a little bit. Luckily I'm too busy at work to worry very much :)
Congrats to everyone, can't wait to share the adventure :)
@shelliduke i have little cramping too - so i think its the baby moving. My ultra sound perfect development of the baby, so i am keeping my fingers crossed everything is going to go well.
Seems like blue is a popular color for December! :)
We were told at 14 weeks that it would be a boy, but the anatomy scan has yet to come to confirm what the tech thought 5 weeks ago. I'm confident they will still say it's a boy.
This is so exciting!
I am starting to show (as in, showing a baby bump, not just fat); and getting funny (good funny) looks at the gym during aerobics and spinning classes!
I have a little bit of a bump, but in most clothes, it just looks like fat. I'm hoping by next week, at 19 weeks, I'll look a little more pregnant. I have some hand-me-down maternity clothes, but haven't worn anything yet. They told us at our 12 week ultrasound that it looked like a boy, I don't know how accurate it can be at that time! But I think it is a little more accurate with boys.
Do you think there are less December babies because a lot of people stop trying when babies could be due around the holidays? I had seen people mention that, but we had tried for a while so I couldn't imagine skipping a month for that reason. And I'm so glad we didn't! :)
@shelliduke Congrats on your December baby! Sometimes my "kicks" feel like cramps too but they almost tickle at the same time so I can distinguish the difference.
We weren't planning on out lil one joining us so soon, but if we were TTC I have to admit I probably would have planned to not have a baby around Christmas. Only because I'm a big baby about my bday and I know my hubby's aunt (who is a christmas baby) always hated when everyone else got gifts on her bday! Poor thing! I know I'll totally over compensate for our lil one's sake, also but couldn't be happier that they will be in our lives this holiday season :)
@rachiecakes Congrats on the blue confirmation! Exciting!
@shelliduke: I don't know whether or not people plan their pregnancies to avoid a holiday baby! I certainly wouldn't... and obviously did not. When we started TTC we had no idea how long it could take and if we'd have issues conceiving or not - so we wouldn't risk skipping one month, the month that could have been it! Luckily, we had no trouble conceiving.
In high school, there was a girl whose birthday was Dec. 26; her parents gave her a small present then, but they had a bigger celebration in the middle of the summer, so she'd get her own day.
@rachiecakes: You look awesome! You're bump is so cute.
@shelliduke: We didn't really think about the fact that he would be a Christmas baby when decided to TTC in March. Oh well, now our birthdays are all in a row. DH's is in October, mine is in November, and now the baby's will be in December. Good thing I've always started my holiday shopping early otherwise I don't know how we'd be able to afford it.
I feel like I'm showing alot more than I guess I am. No one believes me when I tell them how far along I am (19 weeks tomorrow), but I certainly feel huge! The last couple days he has been crazy active. Last week I wasn't sure I was feeling movement. This week he has 5 minute long tumbling sessions.
Has anyone picked names yet? His name will be William Allan, but we'll call him Liam. I know Liam is a popular name right now, but we both love it. At least with William if he decides there are too many Liams, he can go with a different nickname. Allan has been passed down as middle name on DH's side for 4 generations now.
@lcdc: We are (kind of) family birthday buddies! DH is Oct, I'm Nov, and baby will be Dec.
We tried for almost 1 1/2 yrs so I spent a fair amount of time on other sites' TTC/infertility boards, and a lot of people stop trying that month. My SIL is also pregnant, due 3 days before me, and she had been trying for years. She said they have always avoided this month but decided to go for it this time - good thing!
We have names picked out but are waiting till we know what we're having before telling everyone. One more week till we find out!
My sister felt her baby move from the outside at 17w6d, I'm jealous and had hoped that would happen to me to. She is thin but not super thin. I think I'm more excited about feeling baby from the outside - I just want to share it with my husband!
lcdc and shelliduke Was just reading and thought it was kinda funny that I'm a Nov birthday too! My hubby is Sept though but our anniversary is in Oct so we have months of celebrations in a row now too with our lil one due on Dec 26th. We all sure have busy holiday seasons ahead of us!
Did anyone start working on the nursery yet?
For us, it won't be too much work, as the room is already painted in light green and we're more about having a functional room than a cute one.
We're in the process of shopping for the furniture we'll need and it's hard. We decided on buying used items in order to save money - we figure that baby furniture is not something people use for very long so we will find something in good condition. But it's hard to determine what is a fair price!
Yesterday we bought crib bedding for 40$! and it will fit for boys and girls. Since we plan on having more than one baby, we want everything to fit for both even if we're having a boy now.
Anyone else started bargain hunt?
@mommytobee: I started looking for things here and there :) We live in a pretty small city apartment so we'll be sharing a bedroom with the baby until we move - hopefully in the spring. We sold our house last year, were renting while it was for sale but now with the baby coming continuing the house search seems like too much to take on right now.
I found a great mini crib that converts to a toddler bed and a twin bed, so I think we're going to go with that. I'm also in LOVE with Pottery Barn Kids quilts.. so I've got my eye on one in particular.
Shopping for baby stuff is so much fun!
I've started buying some stuff, but haven't put a lot of work into the nursery until we find out what we're having (which is TODAY!!). We did buy a changing table yesterday off of craigslist, so far I've gotten everything used and in AWESOME condition. I want to buy a new carseat/stroller, crib and I would like to have a matching dresser for the crib, but I'm not dead set on it.
This day isn't going fast enough - 2 more hours and I can finally start calling the baby a he or a she instead of "baby"!!
We have bought a lot of items (bath, pack n play, a few onsies) but are waiting until this weekend to pick out nursery items once we find out what we are having tomorrow! Woohoo! We have an idea either way, but one gender is a much better idea so I'm hoping I can share that one later in the week, and that that is the direction we're going in!!!
@Tisty1982 So exciting! I'll be in your same shoes tomorrow so I'm sure I won't be able to do anything but stare at the clock! Looking forward to hearing your news!
@FutureMrsZapper & @Tisty1982:
can't wait to hear your news!! :)
So bummed! My anatomy scan is now NEXT Tuesday :( My regular OB made the appt since they were referring me to a specialist center to get the ultrasound (borderline high risk) and when my OB's office called me with the appt time they told me the wrong Tuesday! So disappointed. They really shouldn't mess with pregnant women like this!
@FutureMrsZapper: That stinks! I can't imagine having to wait another week :(
Well - we're having a GIRL!!! A stubborn one too! We almost didn't get to find out yesterday, she's breach right now and had her legs crossed. But right when they were about to give up she let us have a pick and there is definitely not anything hiding bwt her legs. I'm so excited!!
Tisty1982 Congrats on your pink news!!! Thank goodness she decided to give a peek at the last minute so you didn't have to wait any longer! Seems as though every time I hear of the baby not wanting to reveal, its a girl...little ladies already :)
woohoo - one for Team Pink! :D congrats on your little lady!
@FutureMrsZapper: I can't wait to hear your news next week!!
wanted to ask - any other Dec '11-ers have an anterior placenta? I was told at my anatomy scan that my placenta was right on top and he's using it as a punching bag, so I might not feel kicks so strong until 24+ weeks
Right now I do feel movement, mostly if I bend over my desk or when I lie flat down on my back or belly (not sleeping like this - just feeling baby move).
just curious :)
