We mailed ours October 5 and we're up to 11 yeses, 8 nos, but I have to say that I totally forgot there was no mail yesterday for Columbus Day! I have gotten used to being so excited to check the mail and yesterday I was incredibly disappointed to see there were no little envelopes in there. I texted FI and he reminded me there was no mail...hopefully we'll get double back today!
@MaraBeth: HAHAHA! I did the same thing! I happily went to the mailbox as always, opened it up and NOTHING!? =( I hope that means there's twice as many today =)
Columbus Day = Fail. What are brides going to do if they cancel weekend service!? I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the mailwoman today. Hahaha.
I completely forgot as well. I even have FI excited to check the mail as well and I think even he was disappointed yesterday. I hope there are a few in the mailbox when we check today.
We had one of FI's friends ask today if they could bring someone, (even though his RSVP card had a black 1 sticker on it) FI told him NO. Im so happy that he did this. It makes my life a lot less stressful. I do have to say at least his friend did call before just going ahead and adding the extra person.
@yellowshoe: @blueroses: @RSgrl1215: So glad I'm not the only one let down by no mail on Columbus Day! Fingers crossed for double the amount of RSVPs today. Going to the mailbox is usually the highlight of my day...that's not saying much for how I feel about work this week, haha.

Finally got the mail--9 new ones yesterday! It's so much fun to see all the little envelopes in the mail every day. We're expecting a lot of nos from OOT guests and more distant family, so we're aiming for about 150 guests total...hopefully we won't end up too far over!

We are having a very small wedding. We have a group (where we met) that meets every Tuesday night. I said last night that there were still several people I had not gotten cards from yet. My FI added - "for the love of God people send these back to her. She is driving me crazy with the DID I GET ANY MAIL TODAY question".
I have a feeling I'll be getting a few more in the next couple of days.

@yellowshoe: I feel your pain. This is second weding for us. We each have grown children. Of our four kids only one as replied so far... I have a feeling my college student son has no idea what to do with the card, but the girls are married, they should know better. OK one is off the hook as she had 3 children under the age of 1 1/2 years (Twins)
@december bride: lol! I was giving the groomsmen the same benefit of a doubt, but the girls... I don't know what their excuses are. I keep jokingly asking my FI if he thinks they're all still debating if they're attending or not.

So... I can not update until tomorrow. MY FMIL is bringing the RSVP cards to my Shower tomorrow. So on top of putting guests into the computer I also have to put the gifts in there as well.
My Bridal party and my parents havnt even sent their RSVP cards in. How is it that FI and I live with my parents and they cant just hand it to me? I just want to have it for sentimental reasons for goodness sake.

We had a *ton* of obligatory family/parent's friends invites, so we've been quietly breathing a sigh of relief that a lot of these people have declined...I still feel a little bad when people say no, but we're sort of hoping for a lot of "nos" from these people we don't know to keep it a bit more affordable. We're also having an AHR in my parent's hometown, so a lot of people from OOT will be attending that instead.

I haven't mailed my invitations yet! They should be here by Friday, October 21st, then I'm going to get them addressed and out as quickly as I can! I sent Save the Dates back in early August so I don't feel as bad about waiting a little a late to send the invites. Hoping people RSVP PROMPTLY! We're sending out about 140 invites, 270 guests total. Hoping for a 220 at most turn out! Any advice?!

@kendallan29: I haven't mailed mine yet either. Most of them are ready to go, but I thought it was customary to send them out about 8 weeks in advance. Am I wrong about that?
It doesn't really matter for me though. I already know who's coming to the wedding because it's in Haiti, and I've been helping with the flight/hotel reservations. I don't have any head count deadlines to meet, so I didn't even put RSVP cards in the invitations. So glad I don't have to track down those MIA cards!
I think we're going to end up under our estimate for guests. A lot of people have decided not to bring a +1 and we've been getting a lot of nos from distant family and family friends who have opted to attend our AHR in MN instead (We're paying for most of the wedding and my parents are hosting the AHR--so you can imagine they're thrilled to absorb the extra guests, haha!). I was a little sad to revise the numbers in my head at first, but I think it will do wonders for our budget and everyone closest to us will be there!

Here is my final count. I got my last two response cards over the weekend. I did get a little suprise. Two guests are bringing someone with them that was not on the guest list. Not a big of a deal since it is such a small guest list but it could have been an issue. The price of the reception changes at 30. So any amount over that we have to pay extra per person. I wonder why people do that? One Gal is bringing her college age son , just she and her husband were on the invite. The other just started dating a girl and he is bringing her. I guess they thought since it was so small it didn't matter but really, do people not get that we went small for a reason! I have family members that I didn't included but yet 2 total strangers will be there?

Seems my numbers have been off for every other post, but these are the real, updated ones! 75% of those missing are from FI's family... he assured me he'll make the phone call next week.
Update! I wish all of ours were in....there's still a good chunk out there. We also mailed out a few b-listers. Hopefully not in a tacky manner. So far they've been responding yes without a problem =) I don't know why, but my numbers don't seem to be adding up correctly. We have 30 no's and we originally had 60 more guests than we could accomodate, but now it seems like we will be short....hopefully it works out in the end...
