@TravelingBrit:  Thanks for starting a new thread! I have to go back and read to catch up with the old one. I don't have LO a Christmas outfit yet. I received a coupon for Carter's in the mail yesterday, so I plan on going there this weekend and getting a few items.

Wow, part 4!  I'm really behind and need to look over Part 3 to catch up more, but I am glad to see everyone seems to be doing well!  I'll just add my update for now.

Estimated Due Date?: December 8, 2012

How far along?: 35 weeks today!

    Next Appointment?: Monday

    Team?:  Pink

How are you feeling?:  Sore, tired, and stressed.  Baby is constantly up in my diaphragm, making sitting really uncomfortable a lot of the time.  Unfortunately, I have a ton of work to get done before she arrives along with some very strict deadlines, so I have been staying up late trying to get things done, all while also trying to be reclined on the couch to not be in pain.  Otherwise, I am excited that she will be coming soon!

Is the third trimester what you expected?:  For the most part, yes.  It really hasn't been so bad so far, and i expected to get more uncomfortable, sore, and tired.

What are you researching?: Nursing and diapering supplies.  We are planning on using cloth diapers, so I am trying to make sure we will have enough (and in the right sizes) for when she is born.  I also feel pretty clueless about what to get for breastfeeding and pumping.

What do you have left to buy?: Mostly just nursing supplies and other things for me postpartum.  I need to go through the clothes and other things that we have to make sure we are good to go, but I feel like we are for the most part.

Do you have a name picked out: We have been using Cayla for a while now and it still seems to work.  We'll see if i change my mind though once she is born.

looking forward to about not being pregnant anymore:  Being able to bend to get my shoes and socks on easily and sit without being uncomfortable mostly.  I'm also really looking forward to sushi and being able to unwind with a glass of wine.  Oh, and my old clothes!  My poor wardrobe is so sad now as I refuse to buy more clothes just for the next month.  I broke down and bought a second pair of pants that I can wear recently, but otherwise, I am done buying clothes.  It will be so nice to have some variety again!

Is your hospital bag packed?  Not at all.  I really should get on that, especially figuring out what I need to pack in the first place!

Have you had your baby shower?: Yep.  I had both of mine quite a while ago now (August and September actually).  They were really great!  It was kind of nice to have them early too so that we could figure out what we needed to buy still and purchase things more slowly over the past coupole months.

@BlueMirrorEye - so exciting you're getting so close!! I hear you on the clothes.  I bought most of my maternity clothes too early, so now they're getting too tight/short for my giant belly....but I refuse to buy more.  LOL.

The appt last week went well-of course baby was borderline on providing them what they needed during the biophysial US so then we had to stay on for another half hour to do a non-stress test, which she passed with flying colors. It was a long appt. She certainly loves her tests! They suggested I drink a glass of orange juice 30 minutes before each appt from now on to get baby up and moving.

Well I feel like we had a pretty productive baby weekend. Things we got done:

    1. Finished putting up all wall decals in the nursery.

    2. Put together glider (last piece of nursery furniture!)

    3. Installed car seat (Far easier than people led us to believe this would be. Still need to get it inspected-have an appt on 11/12 for this)

    4. Figured out caregiver situation-just need to finalize schedules between our moms and our neighbor who offered to nanny!

    5. Bought baby memory book.

I still need to pack my hospital bag, which was on the weekend to-do list but will happen tonite. I feel like we got some other baby stuff done too this weekend but now I can't remember what. Oh, and our maternity pictures were supposed to come in the mail on Friday but didn't show up yet so we should be getting them today-if not, the photographer said she'd drop off another copy of the cd by hand tonite so we have them! I can't wait to see them!

Hope everyone is well! We're in the home stretch!!!

@Milwaukeebride:  Wow that does seem like a productive weekend! I'm getting worried because our house is a wreck, and there are less and less weekends available now to "be productive."

Glad your biophysical went well. I have preggo brain, but can't remember why you needed to go.

I got my thyroid test results back Thursday. After increasing my doses of medication, my levels are back to normal - so thats a plus.
I have a growth scan / biophysical on November 13th at 36 weeks because of the thyroid issues, and because he's in the 75% for size.

We still need to install the car seat and rearrange the furniture in our house.

I have the hospital bag mostly packed but still need a robe and a few other things. Need to find my camera too.

Had my baby shower this weekend. I was a little disappointment with the low turnout, but oh well, what can you do.

The cake was beautiful. I'll have to post a pic later.

So do we think @meggyo and @mrselephant will have the first December babies, or do we think someone will skip ahead?

I cant imagine that I will manage to wait until the 12th! I'm feeling like I'm going to go around Thanksgiving!

@Milwaukeebride:  You had a very productive weekend. Are you in the nesting mode? It hasn't hit me yet. Good news about the appointment. I always drink a glass of OJ in the morning. Habit, I guess.

@TravelingBrit:  I'm sorry about the low turnout at your baby shower. Did you get a lot of necessities? Was it more friends or family that didn't show? That's a bummer though! I had a few friends and family members that didn't show up to mine and it hurt my feelings because I always support their events, but like you said, what can you do? I bet your cake was beautiful! I would love to see a pic.

Well, I feel behind. I haven't done anything else besides the nursery and it's still not 100% complete. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. Like, we have all of these things to do, but so little time to complete them. I need to get on packing my hospital bag and give my house a good cleaning. I might hire someone to do that because I am not in the mood! At this point, I very rarely wash dishes or clothes. Thank God for DH who doesn't mind chipping in with the housework.

I also wonder who will be the first to go on our board. We are so close! I'm just hoping that my LO will come before Christmas. I have a feeling she will. I hope she doesn't trick me :)

@TravelingBrit:  i've already started researching natural ways to induce labor, haha. i'm ready to go.

this weekend i had my "friends" shower and it was the cutest thing ever. our group of friends put together a memory book for the baby that started with, "remind me to tell you about the time..." and then it had stories of things that my husband and i had done with that person. granted, some of the stories might need to wait until this kid is in college, but it was really thoughtful. :)

my parents were also up this weekend and my mom helped clean our house and organize the nursery. i can't believe there's only 3 weeks and change left!!

@TravelingBrit:  It all goes back to that "abnormal" first trimester screening for why we continue with the incessant testing. So apparently when you have the increased nuchal translucency is can lead to an increased incidence of still birth so I am now going once a week for the biophysical US to check and make sure the little lady is still healthy and the placenta and fluid levels are good. They will go growth scans every couple of times I'm there too. I'm hoping the orange juice helps enough to not be there over an hour every time by having to also do the non-stress test. Also, a funny moment when the perinatologist came in to chat with us he goes, "Are you still pregnant?" and when I confirmed that I was he said, "Longest.pregnancy.ever." and my hubby said, "I'd like her to stay pregnant for at least 5 more weeks" and the perinatologist said, "I'd settle for 2." We were like, "WHAT?!?! We're not ready for her to come in 2 weeks!!!"

Glad your thyroid results came back better! Sorry to hear about the low turnout for your shower-that would be a bummer! I hear ya about the house being a wreck-I spent 4.5 hrs cleaning on Friday afternoon-I think I may have overdone it to my body that day! But there is still stuff EVERYWHERE. I guess that's what life is like when you have a kid?

@MARIE901:  I also have OJ every morning with my iron pill but this was an afternoon test so she was a little sleepy apparently. I had had a fun size KitKat but that didn't wake her up enough I guess.

    Hi ladies,

It sounds like you all are getting so much done!!  I had plans to get things organized and packed, but we ended up spending a lot of the weekend in the hospital.

I had more spotting so they wanted me to go in for testing.  Everything came up perfectly normal and they found the reason for the spotting...so I don't have to be running to the hospital every time it happens, which is awesome.  Apparrantly I have an irritated cervix that bleeds easily...but it's not harmful at all.  So that was good news!

We had our growth ultrasound and found out the munchkin is 5lbs!  We're in the 75th percentile.  Woo-hoo!  So glad the little nugget is doing good!

@meggyo - that book sounds adorable!  What a great idea!

@meggyo:  I love the memory book! Sounds super cute :)

@Milwaukeebride:  YUM, kit kat. I'm loving those right now :o) Did they say how much your Lo weighs? Have they done any of your ultrasounds in 3d? I'm really wanting to know who LO looks like, but I haven't had any more ultrasounds. 6 weeks and a few days to go!

@mrsmjm:  Sorry about you spending time at the hospital over the weekend. At least they found the reason. I hope you don't have any more spotting! 5lbs sounds like a good weight. Did they make any predictions as to how much LO will weigh at birth?

@meggyo:  That book sounds super cute! What a great idea!!

@MARIE901:  Yes, my sweet tooth is still on the prowl-thankfully Target has their Halloween candy 50% off so we stocked up! ;) Back on 10/18 they said she was over 4# (in the 78th percentile). I think we'll check her growth/weight again in a week or two-no clue if we are still doing that every 4 weeks or every 2 weeks now. We'll see Thursday I guess! And no, none of our US have been 3d. When we had the echocardiogram done the second one they did (to try out a new machine they were looking at getting) they did 4d (3d but in real time or something like that) but they were really just looking at her heart and then tried to get us some face shots but she had her hands in front of her face the whole time. We've gotten some great profile and face on with chubby little cheeks pictures from the last 2 US's though. I am grateful we get to see her so often!

@mrsmjm:  Sorry to hear about your trip to the hospital but I'm glad you have it figured out so you don't need to keep going! I'm sure the spotting had you very nervous! Let's hear it for big babies! ;)

Oh yeah, and I remembered the other baby things we accomplished-decided on a take home outfit (my mom was quite pleased to hear it was something she had bought us!) and I bought some nursing bras. And yes, I think I have officially entered the "nesting" mode.

Woo, seems like I haven't been on in forever.  Hope everyone is doing well!  We're in the home stretch ladies!!

Estimated Due Date?: December 2, 2012

    How far along?: 36w1d!

    Next Appointment?: Tomorrow

    Team?:  Blue

How are you feeling?:  My legs are swelling a lot more often now.  Carpal tunnel has come on with a vengenance, I'm wearing brace at night on my right hand, but my left is also starting to hurt.  Fingers are stiff a lot.

Is the third trimester what you expected?:  For the most part, yes.  I figured that since I've been feeling so good all the other months that the last month was when it was going to hit me hard and it has.

What are you researching?:  Nothing?  I feel like I sound like a terrible mommy for not looking stuff up right now...

What do you have left to buy?: Things for the hospital bag and nursing.  Haven't bought any nursing bras yet and definitely will need some nighttime nursing clothes.  Also we're trying to find a bookcase for Piglet's room.  Still waiting on the bedding to come in and other things I've ordered, but most of the stuff we want that's left for his room is just decor now.

Do you have a name picked out: Sadly, we don't even really have a list!  I'm pretty sure I want to do Rory as his middle name, last name is Lin, but nothing for first name!  Anyone have any suggestions on names that will sound good??  ______ Rory Lin.  I like Dylan, but I don't like the "-lan Lin" sound...  poor little guy is gonna be named piglet forever.  Oh and PLEASE do not tell me to name him Jeremy =p

looking forward to about not being pregnant anymore:  Wearing shirts that I feel like my belly isn't hanging out of, LOL.  Sushi and medium rare steaks, oh and runny eggs too!  My shoes and socks not cutting into my legs and feet.

Is your hospital bag packed?  Not at all =/

Have you had your baby shower?:  All done unless my husband's work is planning a surprise one.  Had a Dr. Seuss themed one at work and a piggy themed personal one.  Will have to post pics of the piggy one later!

@TravelingBrit:  I was thinking the same thing about the people who didn't show to my baby shower a couple of weeks ago. It was a little dissappointing since I even told them to not worry about a gift (times are tough for some people), I just wanted them there to celebrate with me. I am one of the last ones in my circle of friends to have a baby and I was there for their baby showerrs and birthdays and such so it was a little sad, but it makes me so much more grateful to those that did show up. I think babies are like weddings, in that they make you realize who your real friends are. The people who want to share in your happiness and will make the time to be there. Not saying some people don't have legitimate reasons for not attending, but a nice text message or even Facebook post acknowledging their absence would have been nice. Anyway, after my rant: I made sure to buy super adorable "Thank you" cards for the amazing ladies that did show up (:

@Milwaukeebride:  I keep thinking how scary it is to know that babies could come at any second! I mean, five weeks is enough to start wrapping my head around, and I CAN NOT wait to meet our little girl, but what do you mean I could potentially have her before December even arrives. (:

I too am really curious as to who will have their little baby first, and the whole month of December should be exciting. I just hope with all the holiday excitement we don't forget to check in and keep each other updated. If we do, let's make a pact to check in some time in January. (:

@MARIE901 - They didn't give a guess at birth.  I'm 33 weeks now..so I figure if the 1/2 lb a week weight gain is true the little one will be around 8 lbs?  Here's hoping!  LOL.  They said the head is 8cm...so I really hope that doesn't grow too much more :)

I can't believe how close we are - it's really real now! My cousin was due on Nov and had the baby last Monday! Since we got hit by Hurricane Sandy (we were lucky and had no damage/outages), my husband and I were both off from work the whole week, so we finished the nursery and did about 5 loads of baby clothes laundry of things we received from the shower. At least we were productive.

We had an all-day birthing class this past Sat. It was very information but I don't know if I'm any less nervous. I think he's going to be a great coach though. We just have to get the car seat and bases from my parents house and make an appointment to have their installation checked. We also have a parenting class in two weeks and I'd like to tour the hospital. Bag is packed except for things I can't add til last minute.

@TravelingBrit:  WOW so funny that we both had our showers the same weekend and were both dissappointed with the turnout. HOWEVER, i do have to say that many of my guests did have a reason (thanks to hurricane SANDY, lots of people had NO GAS and means of transportation was scarce). But those who showed up made me feel sooo special! We had such an awesome time. My coworkers are planning a surprise shower and some of my aunts who couldnt make it said they will host a dinner/shower for us. So yay. BTW, i too LOVEDDD my cake. Here's a pic. Funny side note: DH wanted the bakery to give us a discount because we wanted a black baby doll and they didn't have any...LOLLL.. So silly.

In other news - i am EXTREMELY uncomfortable. As i sit at my desk, i dont know what to do with myself. I almost wanna cry, thats how uncomfortable i am. I think baby is still breech, but i'm also feeling some VERY obnoxious/painful movements. So i'm woindering if she's turning. Ughh!!

Glad to see everyone is doing well.

    @MARIE901:

    @hellobaby:

My low turnout was more my fault to be honest. I've been somewhat antisocial during these 9 months - just focusing on sleep and staying healthy. I didnt want to seem like a gift hog, so only invited people that I considered really close. Also I havent lived here too long so don't have as many friends here as I do out of state. Since I really had a barebones list of invitees, I kind of expected them all to come unless they had a really good excuse. Those that actually RSVP'd no sent a gift which was really sweet. But several people RSVP'd yes, and then never showed, and some just ignored the invite altogether. LAME.

My SIL never received the invite because of a typo in her address, but my mom called them to confirm all the details. She totally blew off the shower althoger. BIL called today to apologize.

I mostly received clothes, but I wanted the shower mostly to celebrate and have fun and get together with friends - I always knew we would need to buy most things ourselves.

@meggyo:  The memory book idea sounds really cute. That will be nice to pull out when LO is older. I've also been researching labor induction stuff - but not quite at that point here.

@mrsmjm:  Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital but I'm glad they found the reason and it wasnt serious!

@piglet67:  My fingers are so stiff too :( especially at night.

Also I hear dates are supposedly good for quick dilation. I'm going to go to whole foods and get some!

@BabyLove:  Wow, what a beautiful cake! I love it too! I agree with your DH, they should have given you a discount if they only had white babies! HELLO - You would think they would at least carry a few different shades of baby, or if it was ordered in time got one for you. Seriously though, it is so pretty. I would have a hard time eating it!

@fancyfunction:  I've been procrastinating on doing any of the baby laundry for fear that this little girl will be too big for some of it and then I will have taken the tags off and washed it-but I honestly don't see myself returning any of it either. Oh well, if she has to wear 7 outfits in one day to get them all in that's what we'll do! ;)

@BabyLove:  I also agree they should have given you a discount! Honestly, they only have white babies?? But the cake is awesome! Sorry about the pain! I've been having some Braxton Hicks contractions here at my desk at work this afternoon I think. I've really only gotten them when walking my dog and not much besides that. This is the first time I've gotten them when I'm just sitting here and it is pretty uncomfortable.

@TravelingBrit:  I'll have to add some dates to my hospital bag! ;)

I wanted to share the cake my friend made for my shower.  Chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling, it was SOOOOOOO GOOD.  She's a pastry chef and usually does fancy desserts so normal cakes are not her forte, but it came out  super cute!

@piglet67:  Oh my gosh, that's adorable! And sounds DELICIOUS!! I see your wishes for baby jar-that was sad at my shower my sister had an area in another room set up for this but no one besides my mom wrote one. :/ That was sort of disappointing.

@Milwaukeebride:  I thought about that too. I did leave the tags on some of the newborn sizes we got - we didn't get too many of those thankfully - just in case she's more than 8 lbs (!!). The 0-3 and 3 months should be fine though.

@piglet67: @BabyLove:  Love the cakes!  At times I wish I liked cake so I could get a cute one too..... Ha.

@BabyLove:  I feel you on the uncomfortable part.  My ribs just ache all the time unless I am lying down, which is really not good for sticking to these work deadlines I have looming over my head.  Even though I want baby to keep cooking and come out when she's ready, I'm so ready to be done now just so I won't hurt anymore.  Well, also if she came early I wouldn't have to worry about my deadlines.... Ha!

@hellobaby:  I agree that we need to make a pact to update each other after the holidays!

My mom had her grandmother's shower this weekend. It was really nice. I didn't really know what to expect as I have never heard of a grandmother's shower, but it was basically a big group of her work friends, her, my sister and I and we all got together at Holiday Inn. We ate at the buffet (food was yummy) and they gave her gifts for when the baby stays at her house. I got some extra stuff too :) She got a really cute bouncer seat, tub, onesies and a lot of cute picture frames. She also got a gift card whcih I put in my purse :)

Any good recommendations on baby video monitors. LO will be in our room for the first few months, but after that we will be transitioning her to her crib in the nursery and I would like to have a video monitor rather than a regular sound monitor. Any advice/recommendations?

@MARIE901:  That shower sounds so fun! I bet your mom loved it! And lucky you for snagging some more loot and even better-the gift card!

This is the baby monitor we got (same one my sister got as well): http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12818299&fromRegistryNumber=48620607&product_skn=789581 My sister liked it because not only was it video but there is this colored light under the video screen that turns from like green to orange with the level of noise coming from the room. So when she was on the treadmill she would have it with her and since it's loud on the treadmill she couldn't hear him but could check on that gauge to see if he was having an issue or not. She really likes it and highly recommended it.

We got our maternity pictures last night and I really love some of them! However, most I just look really large and like I have a double chin...argh. Once DH gets them uploaded to Flickr I'll post a link probably.

P.S. Yes, I can't wait until this December babies thread is on the Babies board instead of the pregnancy board! :)

@TravelingBrit: Thank you. I didnt want anyone to touch it. LOL. But it tasted just as good as it looked. Haha!!

@Milwaukeebride:  @BlueMirrorEye:  Thanks. I still havent been able to know exactly what BH contractions feel like. I just know that this pain is uncomfortable and annoying. As much as i want her to continue baking in there, i'm pretty ready for her to just be here.

I went to the doctor yesterday. Baby is still in breech position. UGHHH!! She says i have 3 weeks to get her to turn. She told me once i get to 36 weeks and she's still in the same position, chances are she wont change positions, which will automatically mean a c-section. :( So now i have to find a way to get her to turnnnn! Any suggestions?

@piglet67:  LOVEEE that cake!! So pretty.

@MARIE901:  How sweet of ur g'mas friends and coworkers. That was really nice of them.

    @piglet67:  this cake looks amazing!

@MARIE901:  that's awesome about the grandmother shower. i bet she was excited to get some extra stuff for the baby.

As an update from me, I went to the doctor yesterday and had a growth ultrasound since I have been measuring about 3 weeks ahead / large. The baby is about 6 lbs 12 oz and in the 65th percentile. I also got checked and found out that i'm 2.5 centimeters dilated and completely effaced. The doctor pretty much said he can't know when i'm going to go into labor but when it happens he thinks i'm going to go pretty quickly. Um, best news ever.

Also, i love my doctor. My husb and i went to a class a while back that told us if your water breaks you should smell it to make sure it's not just pee. and that it would smell 'earthy.' We found this really funny and told our doctor. He was like 'gross! no! it has no smell. if it smells earthy, that's just YOU!" hilarious.
