The December 2012 boards are so quiet, although I’ve been seeing a lot more of us around, so I figured why not start a thread? I’d love to use this thread to keep updated on everyone’s wedding planning & progress.
I’m doing a DW in St. Thomas USVI. So far we have booked the ceremony, reception, DJ, created our wedding website, booked our photographer, mailed the STD’s, put the deposit down on my dress, and purchased my shoes. I’ve also been purchasing things here and there as I go to spread out the cost (Putting those weekly Michael’s coupons to good use). I Purchased our fans for the ceremony, got my garter, purchased our guest book and picture frames for the guest book table.
I’m currently working on accessories for my dress, picking the bridesmaids dresses (the girls plan to put deposits down in March), seating chart, reception music, attire for the groomsmen and I’m slowly working on our DIY wedding invitation/brochures that will go out later in the year. It’s so nice to get things crossed off of my to-do list.
Where are the rest of my December 2012 brides at currently? How are things going? :)
Whooooo!!! I am almost ordering my dress, have half of half the deposit down!!! As soon as it huts half they order it! I was supposed to be a March 12' bride but we had to push it back... whats being together for a yr more and getting married then gonna hurt?! We have been waiting for this day for a looong time and I will have the perfect wedding! FI and met in the Navy and have been together since Sept 04:) Ahhhh Im VERY excited! We were gonna do fall but its still hot here and I wasnt feeling the colors.Bringing winter to PHX is waaay better!!!
I have the venue booked, photog,MUA, DJ and officiant. venue provides flowers. I have it alll planned just need to buy things! Branches covered in snow for the ceremony(aisle decor), just decor and what not.
@sooner365: YAY! You have a ton of stuff done too! That is awesome! What kind of dress did you choose? I ordered mine back in September and its suppose to be in sometime next month, super excited! I'm trying to find accessorries for my dress. Have you got any for yours yet? Any good places I should look?
@MrsWilson2012: Allure 8764 in white!! this is the sample in ivory and reallllly big on me but stunning!! I got it at La Bella bridal

still trying to sell my old one DB V3204 :(
Oy, we don't have much done compared to you guys!! We're flying to Vegas next weekend to check out venues (and hopefully pick one). If we don't book something while we're there, I'll probably hang myself... I've done sooooooooo much looking online I can't take it anymore! lol!
Anyway, I ordered my dress and we booked a photographer (he books up really quick so we pulled the trigger on that sucker). Got our stuff to do our DIY invites and STDs, just can't make them til we have a venue booked. Bought some stuff for decor, have our cake topper, and the bridesmaids know what dresses they're going to order. I've been gathering gifts for the bridesmaids as well.
I also have lots of bookmarks on pages for different entertainment and DJ options and have been in contact with a few, just don't wanna book anymore til we have that darn venue set!! Got a hair/makeup duo lined up and I found a promising option for our cake this morning... we'll see on that one!!
@MrsWilson2012: thank you!! I love it and cant wait to see it in white!
@MadameTussaud: the ONLY reason I am WAYYYY ahead bc we were suppose to marry this March:(( 2 months away so sad:( But other than that I would have waited and started from scratch if we didnt have everyone pretty much booked. I wanna switch my venue but its ok. I picked it out based on a spring wedding but it'll be fine!
Hey ladies!
I'm glad there's more action on the board! I'm so excited I can now say the wedding is THIS December!
So, the things we have done are Venue booked, photog booked, DJ booked, caterers booked, dress bought, hairdresser booked, STDS printed, invites printed (will be delivered on Tuesday!), decorations started, bridal party asked, honeymoon deposit sent
Things to do soon: Cake tasting tomorrow (SO EXCITED!), engagement shoot in a month (on the anniversary of the proposal)
Phew! Planning since last February has been a big help, but it still feels like there is sooo much to be done!
@haelmai: oooh, I can't wait for cake tasting!! lol! Sounds like you have most of it done!
So I know this is pretty darn early, but do any of you ladies know when you'll be sending out STDs and invites? I really have no idea when is appropriate (though mine is a semi-DW).
@MadameTussaud: Good luck on finding a venue in Vegas! They have some awesome places to get married. I went to a wedding in Vegas last year & it was so much fun! What kind of dress did you get?
@haelmai: YAY! You have so much done! I'm glad I'm not the only one. =] Have fun at your cake tasting! Where are you guys honeymooning?
I'm trying to find my bridal accessorries, veil, earrings & necklace. Any ideas ladies? It's so nice to finally be able to say "We're getting married this year." =]
@MrsWilson2012: Thanks!! I ordered a Mia Solano dress (M9809L). Isn't it weird to say we're getting married within the year??? It all feels like it's going by WAY faster than I expected! lol! Although a few of you have been planning for quite awhile so maybe you're feeling ready to get the party started, but for me, I hope this year doesn't fly by too fast so I can get these details together!!
@MadameTussaud: Um I would send them out by like April... I had ones from our last date, March 22 sent out by July and now have to resend them due to our date change... I want to NLT april!
@MadameTussaud: I just looked up your dress & its stunning! I love it! Mine is supposed to be in sometime next month & I cannot wait. It's getting so real. =]
We definitely do not have as much done as you ladies! We have some things booked, but I don't even know where to start on some of the things I'd like to DIY... I really should get going on that I suppose.... Still need to figure out the STD situation and send those out... oops. So much work to be done!
We have our:
We have a lot of planning to do before December 22nd, 2012! Here's what we've done so far:
I've found that I really enjoy planning the small details, but the bigger things like a finding a wedding dress are things I'm not looking forward to!
@colli459: You have a ton of the big things taken care of which is awesome! Its so nice to get those things out of the way and crossed of of the to-do list.
@BeccaBee83: Thats awesome that you have a back up photographer as well. We booked our photographer 18 months in advance! We knew we wanted her & photography was super important to us too! :)
@MrsWilson2012: We really want our 1st choice photographer, and we're trying to come up with a tailored package deal that fits our needs while still staying in our budget. They're very expensive, but well worth the cost! I just don't want to go broke on the photographer alone. ;)
omg i feel so behind! our date is dec 1st
we are going to get married most likey in vegas though - caesar's palace is where we are thinking right now - so that will probably mean a lot less planning for us.
i haven't even started looking at dresses though!
Holy sh*t ladies we are getting married this year!!! It's only just starting to sink in that after being engaged for 20 months already I'm getting married this year!
So far we have:
-booked the venue
-bought my dress (maybe having dress regret. Sigh)
-bought tulle and lace to DIY veil.
-picked bridal party.
And that's about it, but we have lots of meetings with vendors in February so hopefully we can lock in the florist, celebrant, and photographer in a couple of weeks. There is so much to do, and I'm trying to do as much as I can early so it's not a mad rush at the end.
@MadameTussaud: i sent my STDS out a year in advance because its a DW, if your local i think 6-9 months is standard.
@lilsweetie: im getting married at caesars!! woohoo us!! (well us if you pick it lol)
@Roux: holy ish is right!
so far i have:
and im sure other stuff that isnt even coming to mind.
12-1-12 here....So far this is what we have done: MY DRESS! DJ, His band, all lil things like ring bearer, flower girl, knives, bubbles, b ridesmaids gifts yadda, a few bridesmaids have their dresses, Save the dates, Bought jewelry and all undergarments, bought 1 headpeice and DYied the other, dyed hoop skirt, we are putting deposit down on hotel by the end of the month- interviewed a few photos, picked bridal party, booked officant, have mini moon planned, picked out flower scheme, booked 1 of 2 makeup artist, picked hair stylist, picked out favors, bought all the books in place of table #s, started on personal ornaments for each bridal party member and a ton of other lil stuff im forgetting!!!
@MASPA: Where did you buy your jewelry? I've been hunting for weeks, but haven't found anything yet! I need earrings & a necklace!
@shalynnmarie: You have so much stuff done too that is awesome!
@MrsWilson2012: i ordered mine from tejani. some might consider them pricey but they use rhodium plating which i love and i had a great experience when i visited the store. you can find a coupon all the time too.
@MASPA: I'm doing a Vegas wedding too, though we're super undecided about a venue. We keep changing our minds every 10 minutes, lol. How many people are you inviting and are you doing your reception at Caesar's as well?
@MadameTussaud: Picking a venue was hard. I basically went through the hotels and chose the packages I liked best. We wanted a hotel for convienence, everything is thrown into one. We're not having our recpetion at caesars. Food-wise hotels are quite expensive lol. Also, a lot of the menus were too bland for us and we didnt think worth the money. We're going off the strip about a mile from the hotel. Our guest list is 40 people.
Hi everyone!
I am new here but my wedding date is also in december 2012. The date is 12-1-12! After reading these posts I feel very behind. I have my venue (food tasting is in a week or so) and they can provide a DJ and cake if I would like. I am trying to pick my dress (have narrowed it down to 3)
http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/need-opinions-to-help-pick-the-dress
(maybe you guys can help)
I have emailed 1 photographer to meet with so far but think I have narrowed it down to 4 that i want to meet with to speak about pricing etc based on what i saw at a bridal show, online reviews and their websites.
We have picked our bridal party
Other than that I have just been browsing online. Trying to figure out how I want to decorate my reception and ceremony has been SO HARD! I am so all over the board with the ideas.
O yeah my colors are plum, ivory and gold! (Hopefully I don't change my mind on this) I am notorious for this.
Its nice to meet you all and good luck with the wedding planning!
@MASPA: Thanks so much! I will be sure to check out that website.
@FiFiKib: Yay, another December 2012 bride! Nice to meet you. I have to say the Mori Lee dress looks amazing on you & really shows off your great figure, my vote is for that one! I am a little biased though because I am also a Mori Lee bride! :)
dec. 1st 2012! we just got engaged a few months ago but luckily have gotten a lot done
Things left to book...
i feel pretty good about what we have out of the way....but i also feel like 120391203921 more things will pop up in the meantime.
Oh man ladies, this board is giving me a panic attack! We've been engaged for almost a year, but I hardly have any of the big stuff done.
We've found our venue, but haven't laid down the deposit yet (can you say job searching/student couple? Oof), haven't looked at photographers, dresses, or any of that stuff. Pretty much we've set a budget, gathered guest addresses, started our DIY STDs, chosen the wedding party...and that's it.
I guess after a year of saying that the wedding is a long ways away, it's time to start the planning!
By the way, good to meet you all. I'm excited to plan with you :)
@FiFiKib: I got the Mori Lee 1606 & I love it! I ordered it back in October and its supposed to be in sometime next month, cant wait! :)
@burnie217: You have quite a bit of stuff done too that is great! We need to purchase our wedding bands! We will probably look around Valentine's Day when there are tons of sales.
@AmberFl: At least you know what venue you want, so all you need to do is put the deposit down which is nice! I've had quite a bit of time to plan also! Its been nice to take advantage of sales & what not. I've been slowly buying things along the way so I don't have so much to buy when the time comes.
Booked the venue, and payed half of it's price.
Darn I'm behind!

@Coffee cup: The venue is a HUGE thing to cross off of your to-do list, so thats awesome! :)
Just picked bridesmaid dresses! They will be a soft blush pink colour. I'm waiting for the fabric swatches I ordered from lightinthebox.com to arrive to make sure I pick the right shade of chiffon.
2 of my girls will wear this:

My little sister picked this one:

My 10 year old junior BM can choose from these two:

And my flower girls will wear this in ivory with a pink sash:

What do you think?
@Roux: I love them! They are super cute! Blush pink is one of my favorite wedding colors! They are going to be so pretty. =]
Oh, I forgot to tell y'all about the cake tasting! It was FABULOUS!!!!
We're going with a Madagascar vanilla cake with white chocolate filling (this one was to DIE for!) for the main cake. And then, since we're down south, we're having a Superman grooms cake that will be cinnamon churro cake (nice brown sugar/cinnamon flavor) with cinnamon cream cheese filling.
We only had the one tasting, but I'd had her cakes at a bridal expo, so I knew they would be good, and the price was phenomenal (well, phenomenal for wedding cake at least).
Next big thing is our engagement pictures, which will be taken on February 11. Funny thing is, that's the exact anniversary of the day he proposed which is pure coincidence. Our photographer had that Saturday open, so we booked it, and only later realized what the date really was!
@AmberFl: Yay for another Austin December bride!!!
We've been engaged since new years eve a year ago. I'm so used to thinking "we have plenty of time to decide on [fill in the blank]"... it's hard to believe we have less than 11 months to go! We do have most of the big stuff taken care of:
-Ceremony/Reception venue booked
-Dress and veil ordered and it (finally!) came in a few weeks ago
-Florist booked
-Photographer booked
-Ceremony musician booked
-Reception band booked
-Save the dates ordered (planning to send them out by the end of the month)
but it seems like the more we do, the more things I think of to add to our to-do list!
I have my dress and venue.
Working on photographer, entertainment (dj or band), and bridesmaid dresses currently. Then I'm booking the cake, deciding on groom's attire and a florist. I'm doing jewel tones mainly navy and teal with a peacock accent. This is my dress..
