I'm one of the losers who dropped off the face of the planet. Between the wedding, moving, and settling into life in a new city, my days have been hectic, and I just fell behind on reading! But I've been keeping my eyes out for future book club posts, and I'd love to join in if that's OK. I'm down with doing something this month or waiting till January. Whatever works best for everyone! I just want to get reading and talking with you lovely ladies. :)
I wanted to participate the last two months, but this semester of school turned out to be very difficult and I didn't have much time read for fun. However, I finish up next week and I am ready to jump in to book club! I voted that we should have book club this month.
I'm honestly fine either way. I'll be travelling over the holidays and a book for reading on the plane and in airports is always good.
That said, I do understand that it is kind of a crazy month for people and we may get more involvement if we wait until January.
...still finishing October's book.... :/
I think if we've got the whole holidays to read and then discuss half way through january, that'd be okay... it'd give folks time to read over the holidays during any down time (i know, yeah right) and then two more weeks.
Why don't we do a December book club for discussion sometime towards the end of January? I'm still waiting on Devil in the White City so I'd rather put my books on hold at the library now in case it takes more than 3 weeks to get (I read very fast) Anyhow, I know there's not a lot of participation on the books when they are discussed but I do love the discussions of those who participate though :)
@bRooklynRocks: I think that's a great idea! I agree, I do really enjoy even a little participation :) Devil in the White City is definitely worth the wait by the way!
I'll post a poll sometime today and we can pick a book to read through December and discuss the week of January 10th or 16th.
Yep I'm the loser who was so excited for it and then didn't follow through - I didn't end up reading the books for the first month and missed the second. Yeek!
I'm willing to jump back in in January though..
@bookwormbride: I second that! Except I finish Friday. Cannot freaking wait.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
This past month book club participation was a little low. I got a lot of interest when I posted the poll but not many people commented on the actual discussions (at least not so far....if you've read either book please feel free to jump in!). Maybe it was because of the holidays and general schedule craziness that comes with this time of year.
In keeping with that thought I'm wondering whether it would be better to take December off and start up again in January fresh and ready to go or whether people will actually participate if we have one this month? If people are interested in participating I'll post a poll this afternoon so we can get right on it! You have to have something to ready while you're traveling for the holidays, right? :)
