Look through the pictures at The Knot. I started in the color schemes looking at ideas in the colors I was thinking. It helped me decide that I didn't really want to go with my original thought. I also looked through the outdoor pictures as all of our stuff is taking place in my parents backyard. There are millions of pictures on the site that can help give you ideas as too how to use the red and silver without making it Christmassy.
And it can be difficult. Last year my church celbrated its 40th anniversary in December and I was in charge of the catered dinner for the congregation. I used the Red (40th is the Ruby anniversary) and Purple (royal color) and had almost no budget so everything was DIY! I used some ideas I had seen for centerpieces on The Knot for mine. Thanks to Hobby Lobby coupons and my parents back yard I made 40 Centerpieces for under $200.

I am getting married in December as well :) We are doing Navy and Silver (and obviously some white too) and we are trying to do a snowflake/wintery theme. We both LOVE winter and we're getting married in West Michigan which gets a lot of lake effect snowfall, so it's perfect for us! I don't really have any good inspiration pictures, but I'm sure if you start browsing The Knot or other websites you'll get ideas.
Hi - I'm also getting married in December and our colors are red and gold. For inspiration, I googled "Christmas decor" (or something like that) and found all kinds of awesome ideas on non-wedding websites. There are tons of Christmas/winter holiday DIY projects too!
ohhhh those are GREAT colors. I'm a winter bride myself, January and our colors are blue and silver.
Make sure you have your eyes open after 4th of july. Craftstores will have TONS of red stuff (ribbon, vases, paper) on clearance that will inspire you. Also before the holidays, they start slashing prices to get rid of stuff quick, i had a field day with the hanukkah decorations (blue and silver EVERYTHING)

I've just begun planning my December wedding. I'm thinking about using red and silver. I want to incorporate the holiday atmosphere without having a Christmasy wedding. Does anyone have links to good inspiration pictures? Also, how do I browse bios on the knot?
