Is anyone going to Hawaii in December/January? Or have you already gone before? Someone who lives in Hawaii told me its in the low 80s about that time of year, and it’s warm enough to lay by the pool and go swimming and great time of year to go there. And that there’s hardly any storms, and if they have storms it’s at night.
I am thinking this is going to be our best bet (and easier than traveling to a foreign country) for a winter honeymoon. We live in CA, so we also wouldn’t have to fly through maybe snowstorms, etc. across the US and can just take a nice detour west……
Any tips, thoughts, suggestions, ideas?
THanks in advance

aloha! 🙂 Here on Oahu, it’s mid-to-high 80s in the summer, and mid-to-high 70s in the winter. It’s definitely plenty warm enough to do everything beachy-honeymoon-like that you would want to do. You should understand though, that paradise isn’t perfect! There are never guarantees that you’ll get great weather, and we do in fact have a rainy season. BUT, in general, the rain likes to stay on the windward side of the island, and yes, it rains much more at night than during the day. If you do find yourself with a rainy day, just check the weather for the rest of the island, because you can almost always escape it by taking a daytrip elsewhere. There’s always somewhere sunny to go to. Also, it’s a relatively short flight from the west coast (5 hours ish) so yeah I’d say it’s a good pick for you guys over there. Hope you have fun here if you do decide to come!

I am doing Kauai in January, on the rainier Northern shore. I’m not worried about it. We’re gonna do hiking, ziplines, kayaking. I don’t plan to lay on a beach for a week. I am going to Mexico for a week afterwards and will lay on the beach there!
