So, here is the story…
I bought a dress on Etsy about 2 months ago from a shop with great reviews and I fell in love with the pictures.
During one of those body image weakness moments, I decided my hips would look terrible in that dress, so I bought ordered a Dressily Me one to be modelled in the style of Grace Kelly, my favourite style icon EVER.
My Etsy dress arrived last week, I am thinking it looks gorgeous… I havent got pictures of me in the Dressily me one yet, as it’s just been sent, so please use your imagination…
Could you help a girl out!?!?!
Is my first dress ok? What could be improved upon (if anything)? Can I pull it off?
Should I go with my classic style Grace Kelly Number??
(The wedding venue hasn’t been decided yet, but probably a garden setting)
Sorry about the HUGE pics… I don’t know how to resize yet

@BluePurple90: I really like the etsy one on you

I like the etsy one! I think they are both lovely dresses but the first one is just stunning.

Etsy. Why on earth would you feel bad about having an hourglass figure?! Haha! Embrace it. You look gorgeous. And I feel you’d be hidden in the dressily me one. 🙂

@laken.oliver: Thanks, I’m more of a pear really… 35 bust and 41 hips, but the dress kinda hides it well. I guess I’d eaten too much cake that day 🙂

@BluePurple90: I think the Etsy dress is perfect for a garden wedding!!!

@BluePurple90: well it tricks the eye. It looks great on you. 🙂

@eecuadrado: I think so too 🙂
@laken.oliver: Thanks 🙂 I’m very pleasently surprised with the shape on me!
But I kinda feel bad about discounting my second option before I even try it on 🙂
I’ll post photos when it arrives, but so far I think im leaning towards Etsy dress

I love the ETSY dress too! Though both dresses look very pretty. One possibility would be to wear one for the ceremony and one for the reception but I’m not sure because I love the ETSY dress for both!

The etsy dress is gorgeous and I think it looks fabulous on you!! I think the other dress is pretty as well but I just love the back of the etsy and all those buttons!!

They’re both gorgeous, but I chose the Dressilyme dress for two reasons: 1) the Etsy dress is too short in the front, 2) the seams down the front are very distracting. Ugh, but I love the back of that one. Tough choice.

@vorpalette: Thanks 🙂
I know it’s a bit short in the front, im thinking either I’ll wear amazing sparkly shoes or use the extra lace I was sent to try and alter it. I’m seeing what the dressmaker can do with the seams as well.
I love the Grace Kelly one too! It’s tricky

I was thinking a bit like this style if I do get the Etsy, to show off my coloured shoes:

@BluePurple90: that is such a beautiful example of the hi-low dresses! Very 1950s! Lovely!

I do like the first dress a lot and it looks great on your figure, however it is too short. I don’t know if there is enough material in a dress to make it longer, and if you leave it the way it is it doesn’t look like an intentional high low dress, it just looks too short.
If you can alter the first one to be long enough, I think it would look great with a belt or sash. However, if you can’t fix the length and the Dressily Me dress looks nice when it arrives I would stick to the second dress.
