Bees I need your help —
When deciding on your decor, bridesmaids dresses, colors, etc. did you base it off of your dress? I haven’t pinned down my dress yet, and I’m a little scared to finalize my color scheme because I’m being told that I should wait until I find my dress. With tons of DIY projects in mind I feel like it isn’t wise for me to wait to find my dress…what if it takes months??? I have two jobs, so the earlier I can start my projects the better off I will be.
How did you guys come about pulling everything together?

I based it off my chapel. We are getting married in a very simple chapel on the marsh, so a glamorous or over-the-top dress would have looked silly in such a simple setting. Once I had the chapel, I knew what kind of dress would be appropriate for the chapel, how to decorate, and how to carry through the general theme of the chapel decor to the reception decor.

Well, I did get my dress before anything else but I also had a theme in mind. I knew what I wanted my dress to look like, I knew I wasn’t going to change my mind on that, so I would have felt comfortable planning more things even if I hadn’t found my dress yet.
(I wanted something vintage and springy.)

I booked my venue first, then the dress and colors around that because I feel like the venue really sets the bar for the entire event :]
