@mrs. dg: i do love sophia and it was like i tried on maggie's angelina, one that i LOVED before trying on sophia and i was like meh it's okay the fabric is pretty. i shocked myself with that one. i think mom and i knew that i had found the one and i'm just being silly right now... i guess lol... btw is it hilarious that i just realized my favorite dress has the same top as sophia? except sophia fits better at the top lol

Uh, Sophia! Why are you even asking? That dress was MADE for you!
okay maybe i'm tripping, but i really want to know the reason folks chose the first dress, is it because it's the only time i'll really get to be a bride, and it's traditional (one of the reasons that i liked it). i kept saying i look like a bride and my sister kept saying duh you're getting married dumb butt...
Without a doubt, the second one. I think it suits your figure and personality beautifully. And do not worry about not looking "bridal" enough. It looks very bridal and the most important thing is what you feel like on your day.
I voted the Sophia, but I would love to see side & back views of both dresses to give you a real answer, but you're the one who has to wear & love the dress (and your fiance)! I think you know the answer :)
@jls: i didn't even bother taking sides and backs of the first dress which is why i'm surprised that i am torn right now. it just didn't feel like it until they put the veil on and when they did i was like omg... i wonder if that is why i am thinking about it?
i think i love the bottom of sophia sooo much i am not sure why and i didn't expect to, i thought i wanted a more fitted mermaid, but they didn't look good on me AT ALL and the fact that i couldn't even put them on didn't help at all...
SOPHIAAAAA!!
That dress was made for you!!!
crebre! i thought we already discussed how sophia was made for you! with the little bit of bling and everything!
Oh, no contest, Cre, the first one you found!
Why are you even asking this question, silly?
I like the first one much, much better on you. Its simpler, softer outline is more romantic and much more flattering.
Well, I guess I'm going to be the odd man out...but I really like the first one with the net/tulle layers. You really know how to rock that dress. I haven't seen anyone on wedding bee with a gown like that, and it is totally unique. In fact, I've never seen anyone anywhere with a gown like that yet except on the runway!
That gown would look rockin with your birdcage veil!
Your original gown is lovely too, don't get me wrong. However, I've seen a lot more women in styles similar to this. Although the layed dress is so unique, it is still A-line so obviously, it is going to be flattering!
Either way, good luck!
There is no contest. Sophia was made for you. You look amazing in that dress. I can just see your future husband's reaction now, he will be blown away.
I am in the same situation - deciding between a very "bridal" dress and a more curve hugging one. Its such a tough call! They both look beautiful on you... I think now you just need to make the call on what look you're going for. Good luck!
Oh my goodness, dress 2 looks AMAZING on you....rock it woman!
2! I remember your first post about it and you CRIED!!!! That means it was meant to be. And it is very bridal and gorgeous and looks fab on you!!!! :)
@ fabulously and chapelhill: i'm so glad that y'all commented on why you liked the first one, it's a very romantic dress the problem is I don't think I was going for romantic but I really really really liked the dress, in person and in the right size it is a very pretty dress. one of the problems though was they didn't quite know how to bustle it and for me the dress was cute but the train needed specialized bustles and the lady from alterations came over and was like well we'll do something like this and this and then i began to hate the dress. my mom and i were both like nope that sucks we don't like that.
@everyone else: i think i need to go and try sophia on (again) because I was comparing everything to her and i really liked the fluffy layers of the first dress (reminds me of a 50s wedding gown). but they couldn't do the bustle so it sort of sucked.
now i have to decide who i want to be on my wedding day, do i need to be a sex goddess or do i want to be a romantic bride? i tend to err on the side of i'm too old to be a romantic guide, i am a sex goddess lol... my style of clothing is always sex goddess in the making and i think folks expect me to be a sex goddess (as do i expect myself to be one) everyone says when they see Sophia dress: it's so you. and it's very true it is a very me dress. the first dress isn't me and i'm very afraid that if i buy the first dress i would regret not buying the second, whereas if i buy the second dress i would just think well the first one wasn't me anyway... if that makes sense? i am still at a loss and still pissy at the dmv so i have no clue which i should get.
Okay I actually like #1 a little bit better... but I voted #2. #2 is YOU. You own that dress. You rock it. You look like you want to float up through the ceiling like those stupid 3 muskateers commercials.
HAHAHA! I voted & it's 94% to 6% in favor of #2. That actually made me laugh outoud.
Girl don't 2nd guess yourself. You glow in the 2nd dress, it's the one you keep coming back to. I've been going back & forth for MONTHS between 2 dresses & I can't make up my mind. When you know, you know.
It's like Randy said on SYTTD - the gown is like the right man. When you find your guy, you stop looking. ;)
i'm pretty sure we have a clear winner! you look amazing in that dress, and your face in the picture says it all ...
#2 without question. I think about your excitement when you tried it on the first time and your subsequent post. Just reading that post and seeing those pictures made it blatantly obvious that this is your dress! The feeling from the other dress is more of a "0h, this is nice" vs the "Holy #$$%#, this is MY DRESS" vibe of the Sophia. And, I think it suits your figure better. So there!
@corgs: it did make me pretty happy... i just wish i could show M but I know what he'd say which one do you like better
@dancy: the only prob is sophia was the first dress i tried on lol... so i had nothing to compare it to or anything like that. i honestly didn't have to put on another dress and nothing compared but... there was always that well you haven't tried on maggies and you liked them so try them on.
@danish: thanks girlie!!
#2! Girl, you have the curves for it, show it off!
#2 is so so so flattering on you. Try it on again. You'll know.
