You still have time! It helps to not get too overwhelmed about everything all at once...just tackle one project at a time. Go into a few paper stores (my fave is Paper Source) and look through all of their books. Or if you have a more specific vision, try to get your invites custom made through Etsy.
As for the BM dresses, you might want to give your BM's some guidelines and a color scheme and let them choose their dresses...then it's not an issue for you anymore!
Good luck!
Weddings are a lot of details, so I try to pick my battles. It is all important, but not everything has to be 100% perfect (something will go not according to plan at some point!)
For bridesmaid's dresses my girls ordered two styles from JcCew.com that we really like.
For invitations, we are working with a family friend, but a couple of my friends have ordered their invites from Costco. I know sounds weird, but they have nice designs and both invites that I received were very nice quality.
Good luck with the wedding planning and make decisions that make you happy! You don't necessarily have to look at every single option if you are happy with an invite, bridesmaid's dress, vendor etc that you have already found. I don't think that is settling on something, it's what's keeping me sane through this planning process!
@ MandyW: Thanks! I am actually in NJ myself, I will check out Paper Source soon...
@ jaylii9: Thanks for the advice! Staying sane is half the battle, right? :)
I am very picky but luckily the other decisions were easy to make. We fell in love with our venue, photographers and wedding band and KNEW we had to have them. The dress shopping was an experience all on its own. I LOVE my dress but boy am I happy that part is out of the way.
BM dresses- I have girls of varying heights, skin tones, hair color and body types which makes dress shopping a nightmare. At this point, I am happy with whatever color/style looks good on all 3.
You could find off the rack dresses for super cheap also you could make your own invites
Oh don't worry, you really do have a lot of time for the invitations. Check out papersource, weddingpaperdivas and etsy is awesome if you want to go custom without have t pay a ridiculous amont of money...the options are really limitless. As far as dresses, you only have 3 lovely ladies to please, so shouldn't be that difficult. Provide them with a few details of what you are leaning towards and have them look for you...use your wedding party:-)

I have been following the boards religiously for weeks now and finally decided to write :)
I am engaged to be married to the love of my life in August and couldn't be happier. The stressful part? All of the teeny tiny wedding details, etiquette and planning. Sure, I love planning vacations, birthday parties and road trips. I also love surfing the web and finding the most awesome deals. So why is this so hard???
I've learned SO much from reading other people's happy and not-so-happy posts. I am really excited to have made my major wedding decisions already- the venue, the food, the flowers, the music, the dress, the photographers.
The kicker? We haven't invited a single guest yet. I have not found ANY invitations I've loved enough to order and I refuse to settle. I am also still looking for BM dresses for my small wedding party of 3.
The search continues.... Any suggestions hive?
