Looking through magazines and websites of castles with color washes, uplighting and orchids has me feeling down. I have to keep reminding myself that these pictures are of 100k weddings. Still, I feel like my wedding won’t be good enough. Anyone else ever feel this way?

I went through that before our wedding…it is tough and the only thing that really helped me was backing off of the websites and blogs for a while and just focusing on my own wedding. Plus, reading A Practical Wedding blog helped put things more into perspective.

Oh my gosh yes. I am rocking my churches fellowship hall. And it feels SO inadequete sometimes. But the thing I have too keep reminding myself is that my wedding is about me being married to Fiance. If there happens to be a fun party attached, great. And honestly, the people who are going to judge me for my reception obviously are people’s whose opinions shouldn’t matter because if they really cared for us as a couple, they wouldn’t get huffy that we couldn’t afford to throw the biggest anf best party of the year. Your wedding will be amazing because it is your wedding!

Oh my goodness! I started feeling this way about 15 minutes ago!
I feel that we don’t have enough ceremony decor, or enough “pop” for the reception, but all this stuff is SO expensive!!
I guess in the end, it doesn’t matter how many flowers you have or whatever, but… ugh… I don’t know, you want to feel magical and think all these things are necessary?

I think every bride suffers from wedding envy at some point. I had a small budget and I definitely couldn’t afford uplights, draping, orchids, chair covers, etc.
My best advice to to STOP LOOKING. Focus on one style or one element at a time and search like that. That way you won’t be looking at thousands of pictures of platinum weddings at the same time.
And remember, your wedding will be gorgeous and perfect because it’s YOUR wedding.

I think everyone feels this way at some point or another! Don’t let it get you down. You’re wedding will be fabulous and no one is going to be looking around comparing it to the likes of Style me pretty! You will always be your toughest critic.
