Haha, I think the word you were looking for was adhered :) I would use something like double sided tape or sticky squares and stick the ribbon to itself instead of to the jar. ie: Make a tape sandwich, overlapping the ribbon with tape in the middle. You should be able to get it tight without too much of a problem.
You could also try using a hot glue gun, since the glue will peel right off afterwards!

Hi! For all those decorating candy jars with ribbons -- how are you planning on sticking on the ribbon to the jar? i think i would possibly like to reuse the jars after the wedding so I didn't know the best way without ruining the jar while not making the jar look too ugly since once the candy passes the ribbon line, you'll see how i adhesed it to the jar! (is adhesed a word? hhaha)
anyways, double sided tape? sticky squares? xyron? any ideas?
