@kay01:  It is nice if there is some flow of colors from one room to another throughout the home. It does not need to be all the same color. Adding  a bit of green is enough.

I wouldn’t pick just one accent color, that can be a bit predictable.

Blue and yellow will tie in the walls and give a pop of color

 

 

 

This one uses the same palette in softer shades for pillows and the color comes from the artwork and flowers

 

 

green , bue and grey

As far as the curtain question is concerned, you wold have to choose a color before we can make any specific recommendations. Do you even need curtains or drapes? Do you have privacy concerns?

A clean modern look without drapes looks great in the right rooms.

If you do need privacy, sheer shades are another option.

@kay01:  Remember that you can always purchase  just pillow covers in the future if you decide to change color schemes.

@kay01:  Have you considered heat reflecting film for the windows to keep out the heat? It’s an easy DIY. Then you add curtains for decor and privacy.
