OH MY GOODNESSS!!!! We have to get in contact! You will never guess what!!!!!

I am

a) doing a peacock themed wedding

b) getting married in the ball room of an old mansion

c) doing a very old, vintage feel.

We are having the reception in a history museum, so the whole feel is going to be old fashioned and classic. My bridesmaids are all wearing unqique vintage dresses from the 1950’s!

The colors are teal, blue, and green, And we are incorporating egg plant as well! I like to think of it as  a “jewel tone” color scheme.

AND I am doing my bouquet with dark calla lillies! SO WEIRD!

OK, so I have not done a TON of planning since the wedding is not til April, but this is what I have so far:

I am going to be using a lot of baby’s breath, since I don’t like the look of frou frou flowers. That is also why I am using dark calla lillies in my bouquet, because they are more stream lined and architechtural than “foofy.”

I am having long black vases with poofs of baby’s breath that has pecock feathers mixed in with it. I am using this vases to line the aisle, but they will also be used as the center peices for the reception.

My bouquet, as well as the bridesmaids, will have peacock feathers in them. I think the bridesmaids will have spider mums in their bouquets, but I am not sure what other feathers.

Our main colors are dark navy, a dark teal, and a pretty emerald green. However, eggplant will also be tied in. THere will be eggplant in my bouquet, and one or two eggplant bridesmaid dresses.

They are each going to have a different solid color dress that fits in the color scheme of our wedding.

at the entrance to our ceremony there will be a huge fake peacock with cascading feathers. this will also serve as the focal point at the reception on a table where we have our escort cards.

THe escort cards have a stamp of a peacock on them and will be written with fun calligraphy.

BLUE AND GREEN colored punches and cocktails! Blue and green candy table!

🙂

Do a google image search for “peacock wedding” and you will get tons of images. I orgiginally wanted a peacock theme, but I did soooo much image browising that I made myself sick of the theme, haha.

like this, but with long black vases and peacock feathers mixed in with the baby’s breath. probably won’t be as perfect of a circle as this.

this is how the floor of my ceremony venue looks as well.

I am in Seattle and having kind of sort of the similar inspiration as you two – – One of the major difference is that I am marrying this year on Halloween, LOL  Tongue out

EDIT – – totally didn’t answer your post, I got so excited we’re all in WA, LOL…OK the shoes (which you already know I adore) I like with the first dress. That dress IMO is a little more old hollywood glam.  My advice when doing a color palette, there is not a min. of colors you have to use. Use what you want, whether its 3 colors or 5 colors. Play around. Check out this blog, a ton of brides look here for inspiration.  Not to mention color palette inspiration comes from the most random places…I got mine from this ad – – how is that for ya – RANDOM!?!?!?!?!?

PS – – yowza sorry the image is ginormous…

oh wow. what a small world.

@pilotsgirl09, check out my wedding blog! I don’t have a lot posted yet, but I know a ton of stuff will start streaming in eventually.

What do you think of bridesharing? AKA using some of the same decor and splitting the cost?

seriously, just go to estsy.com and google peacock wedding. there are sooooo many things that would be awesome touches to a peacock wedding.

I found the fake peacock on there. I am on my way out the door, but I will send you links and pictures to everything I have in mind when I get back. 🙂

Potentially, bridesharing could save us a tonnnn of money!!!!!!!
