Santa doesn't throw up all over the house, blasphemy!! lmao!! i am decorating the tree, hanging a wreath on the door, i have two topiary trees that will be put on either side of the door or on the balcony and they will be decorated. i may put garland on the bannister as well. ummm yeah i LOVE christmas!! if we were still in our house i'd have reindeer and the whole nine yards outside!!
I used to love decorating for Christmas when I lived with my parents. Haven't really had anything since I moved out and this year won't be any different since we are on an EXTREMELY tight horrible budget! EVIL! Maybe once we are both working and in a new place I will go completely crazy!
Oh the reason I'm not *really* decorating is because I won't actually be here at the apartment for Christmas! I always go home to my parents/ my house... well, that and the fact that Christmas decorations are $$$
Yeah, they are so expensive! We aren't sure what our Christmas plans are yet. We used to go to my husband's family's house because we lived near them but now that we moved away, we would have to fly to get there!
they are on sale right now where i work for like .49 for these christmas picks that go in the trees!!
:( Ths thread makes me sad. We have such a small and poorly laid out apartment that we can't really decorate. We have no room (and believe me when I say NO room) for a tree. We don't have a mantel to decorate. The most we're doing is putting up this cute ceramic, light-up xmas tree as a centerpiece on our dining room table. We have a balcony, too, so I think we'll string some lights along that. Hopefully next year we'll be in a better place and can properly do Christmas decorations. Ooh maybe later this month or early Dec. some one can start a thread for people to post pics of their decorations!!
I wish I could go all out! I LOVE Christmas! My bf and roommate were out camping this weekend, so I went shopping hoping to surprise them with a decorated house, but oh my! Decorations are so expensive! I'm living off of student loans, so I'm on a really tight budget. I got some christmas lights, got some stalkings and decorated them, got a little tree/plant thing for our coffee table, but that's all I could afford. My bf said he'd pick up a small christmas tree, which makes me happy! I wrapped some presents yesterday and put them downstairs, so that makes it a little more christmas-y. Sigh, I hate having no money. haha
I definitely need to start wrapping gifts and clean my house etc! picks are little decorated bunches with a stick in them that you can stick in a wreath or on a tree....

m is totally not into christmas so i will have to sneak my christmas decorations... lol dude i cannot wait to watch griswold's christmas vacation!!
It's not Christmas until Santa throws up all over the house. There's an annual contest for the best decorated house in our area and for the past four years, we've finished in the top three. We have no plans to end that streak!
I'm so obsessed with winning that we go so far as picking up discounted decorations after Christmas and storing them for the following year. Last year I walked away with 3 lit reindeer, a box of ornaments, and a faux christmas tree all at 75% off.
my mom totally buys after christmas decor. i think M would have a heart attack. he is already fainting by the amount i got last year lol....
For sure we will be having a tree, especially since it's the first Christmas in our first house :) And we'll hand some stockings over the fireplace. The hubby wants to hang Christmas lights outside, but it scares me a little because it's like saying to crooks, "Hey we have tons of presents in here, come take a look!"
We will be hanging something on the door. I usually do oversized bells or a large stocking. We'll also do the tree -- a really TALL one since we moved and have really, really high ceilings. And we'll do stockings, and then some type of Christmas-y thing for the table.
The other day we were dropping off my son's friend and passed a house that was COMPLETELY decked out for Christmas. This was on October 25th! I guess they just wanted to make sure they got to really enjoy them!
My favourite kind of shopping in Seoul is subway shopping. Some stations have huge underground shopping areas with little stalls selling cheap clothes/flowers/kitchen ware etc. Last year my friend and I found one that was at least a mile of underground Christmas stores. Since most Koreans don't decorate their homes during Christmas, I think it is for stores who want to decorate. Anyway, there was a store that was just green Christmas balls...another for just black Christmas balls, one for just silver Christmas trees, and another for just gold Christmas trees. It was an incredible Christmas decoration wonderland, but I actually felt sick after being there for so long because there were TOO many decorations in one spot. I hope the market still exists this year so I can go and load up on cheap decorations!
I can't wait to decorate for Christmas! But my FI won't let me until the 27th. = (
I have an awesome foil wreath that I bought last year that I'm going to hang on the front door.
My mom gave us a tree, but I don't think we have any ornaments. :( So maybe we can go buy some. We can't go crazy, it's just a 6ft tree. At least we won't have to climb to put on a topper.
The couple who sold us the house left us some Xmas decorations, but I need to look through them. I know there's a giant wreath, but I like my blue foil one better.
Last Xmas I bought a sprig of mistletoe and hung it in the kitchen doorway. Maybe I'll see if I can find another one this year.
I think it's too early to put up most of the decorations, though. I'm thinking of putting up the tree after Thanksgiving, but the wreath will probably go on the front door this week.

How far are you going with your Christmas decorations? Are you going all-out/ Santa threw up all over the house/ Winter Wonderland? Or are you hanging an ornament from the ceiling fan and calling it a day? (Santa throws up tinsel and garland- occasionally fully decorated trees, in case you were wondering what on EARTH I'm talking about)
I'm more in the "hanging an ornament from the ceiling fan and calling it a day" camp, but I can't seem to stay away from the Christmas decorations this year! Not buying, just looking, but I'm so afraid I'll crack! I am going to try a Christmas cookie recipe every week, so that will be fun!
