    How much did they quote you for draping? You can buy 1ft x 80 ft crystal organza on ebay for $7.99 – I may be getting this for my venue, depending on how the ceilings are.

    @leecy87:  Holy crap that’s insane!

    I would talk to them about it.. they may or may not let you, just depends. You could def. achieve that look for alot less though.

    I like the drapes but $900 sounds like a lot, depending on your budget.  I do think the room looks just fine without them too.

    The only thing with DIY is like you said, getting up there. Our venue has high ceilings like that and I asked the event coordinator about hanging things from it and she said we would have to rent a lift. And that starts at close to $900 here.

    I actually prefer it without the draping. I don’t think you need anything, but if you want something I would look into paper lanterns and strings of lights instead of the draping. I feel like the two drapes just look a bit odd.

    Are those rafter things wood or metal? If they are metal you could probably add magnets on the cloth to hold them up, and use a long shepards good or similiar item to put them up. .

    @jenilynevette:  What seller? Not to threadjack, but I’d kind of like some of that, too, and that’s the best price I’ve seen.

    I love the draping! But the chandaliers sound like they would be stunning, too!

    Dont worry about the draping, its a total rip off! you can find some gorgeous chandaliers on ebay and then all you need to do is deck out tables etc with some pretty centre pieces and it’ll fill the room perfectly.

    @leecy87:  Me either! I was like nevermind, we don’t need to put anything up there. “No one look up!” haha
