I think it would be fine on its’ own (just Google outdoor amphitheater weddings and you will see many with no added decor), but an alternative would be to do something simple that suits the environment and goes with whatever decor you are using at the reception.

There is a possibility to seat the wedding party on the lowest seating area so that the service becomes even more focussed on the two of you. Another possibility would be for the two of you to stand near this wall facing your guests so only the officiant has his back to the audience. Your wedding party can stand at the back of the circle. You could then focus your decor on the low wall- placing low arrangements there or placing a row of grapevine balls or moss pomanders. Graevine balls or moss pomanders also work well if you are not choosing the trditional fall colors of orange, red, gold etc. Many couples are choosing jewel tones for fall weddings -teal, burgundy etc.

Two logs standing on end with a rustic basket  on top filled with  flowers, pumpkins, even squash and gourds would  give a fall flavor, and a focal point for the ceremony. See this pic where it looks like they placed potted plants inside a planter- easy to do and easy to transport.

It’s beautiful and perfect.  No decor needed.  We are renting a rustic looking lodge type hall for our ceremony and I am not buying ay extra decor.  I might make some but nothing fancy or elaborate.

I want to do a amphitheather, too, but the city it’s in wrote in their rules that it’s “First come, first serve.” What the heck sense does that make for an amphitheater? Who decides to throw a concert and invite people who can actually attend without any notice? I’m going to call them to make sure because that doesn’t make sense.

Ooh, we have a very similar setting (although yours is much prettier–ours comes with cobalt blue stadium seating lol). We’re doing a backdrop for the ceremony area, and then…not sure on the seating area yet. Hm!
